Lord of the Rings NFTs hit the market thanks to Warner Bros’ partnership with cryptocurrency company Eluvio.

Non Fungible Tokens, or NFTs, are making waves in the world despite their decline in the market. More and more products are being sold digitally using the Ethereum and Tron blockchain. We can see them in art paintings, from developable characters in games (Axie Infinity) to winning shot cards in the NBA.

Warner intends to take advantage of the popularity these crypto assets are gaining and couple it with the popularity of one of its franchises. This product is the Lord of the Rings, of which they will sell some videos and images of the first movie. For this, the company teamed up with W3 to create and place the tokens on the blockchain.

Warner said they are interested in exploring the digital collections market. They also stated that it considers The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring a great title and an excellent place to start. The tokens were ready and were divided into two blocks, with different prices and advantages for buyers.

Warner Bros partnered with a company in the cryptocurrency world called Eluvio. The purpose of such a partnership is to release Lord of the Rings NFTs of an extended movie version. This new version is available in 4K and will have videos and images.

The tokens created by Eluvio are compatible and will be on the Ethereum network. In total, there would be two blocks of tokens. Each one will contain two versions of the extended movie. The first has the epic edition, with 999 copies worth $100 each.

The other group of tokens is associated with the mystery version of the movie and will be contained in 10,000 units that will cost 30 dollars. These Lord of the Rings NFTs will allow you to watch the extended version in either 4K or UHD. They also include several special features from the film, content that was never released and footage from the film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Warner sent a statement about these qualities to Variety, saying, “Both editions allow buyers to view the extended version of the film (which runs 3 hours and 48 minutes) in 4K UHD along with access to over eight hours of special features, hundreds of images and hidden collectibles.”

They concluded, “The Epic Edition includes navigation menus for three locations in the film – The Shire, Rivendell and the Mines of Moria – along with location-specific artwork. The Mystery Edition includes one of the locations randomly assigned. The Epic Edition also includes additional image galleries not in the Mystery Edition.”

Warner Into the Crypto Assets Industry

This would be Warner’s first attempt to start in the world of cryptocurrencies. They started with Lord of the Rings NFTs due to their high popularity after 20 years of its release. However, this won’t be the only case we will see of NFTs in Warner, considering that they created a department for this activity called WB Movieverse.

That could generate several scenarios of old and new movies in an NFT collection. Among these could be the Batman series with Christian Bale. Some blocks destined for this franchise are possible. Especially in the second one, considering that the actor who played the Joker, Heath Ledger passed away before the release of that movie.

Another production that could be considered is Man of Steel, with Henry Cavill. Now with his return, they can take advantage of the character, the actor, and the campaign. It is an excellent opportunity to boost this business and vice versa. Warner can also use these NFTs o promote the sequel of this saga, which has already been confirmed.

In newer filming, we have Black Adam, which opens today, October 21. Unreleased footage from the film may also be sold as cryptos by Warner. However, we must first see the public reaction.

At the moment, we only know that Warner will release Lord of the Rings NFTs. It is not known if they will do so with other films. Although given that they created another department within the company for this type of product, it is quite likely that there will be more.
