Ryan Reynolds Teases New Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer Featuring Hugh Jackman

The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer opens with Wade Wilson, played by Ryan Reynolds, addressing Logan. The character tells Wolverine, played by Jackman, “Look, you’re going to hang up your claws eventually, and that’s going to make a lot of people sad.” We then cut to footage from 2017’s Logan. Here we see the death of Jackman’s character, set in the year 2029, with Laura, played by Dafne Keen, weeping at his side.

“But one day, your old friend Wade will ask you to get back in the saddle, and when he does, say yes.” Wade urges Logan, as the trailer shows Laura emerging from Logan’s grave. In addition, the trailer includes more vintage footage, including an iconic scene from 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In this one, Wolverine stages his escape from a government facility.

The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer also includes other footage leading to a new scene in which Wolverine is seen in his iconic yellow and black costume, standing next to Deadpool. “I’ve always wanted to ride with you, Log,” Deadpool expresses. In addition, the trailer concludes with a shot announcing the release of the new trailer tomorrow.

Deadpool &  Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26. Thus, it will become one of the most anticipated releases of the summer. Many fans have speculated about the possible inclusion of Josh Brolin’s Cable in 2018’s Deadpool 2. However, the actor has remained cryptic when asked about it.

During an interview with Collider while promoting his new film Dune: Part 2, Brolin was questioned about his involvement in Deadpool 3 and, if not, the reason behind it. Brolin responded with a playful yet enigmatic reply, saying, “No. I don’t know. Because Ryan (Reynolds) doesn’t like me? I don’t know. I don’t know! Maybe?” with a smile.

A Movie Plot Before the Events of Logan

Ryan Reynolds confirmed that Deadpool & Wolverine story will take place before the events of 2017’s Logan. This time around, Jackman’s Wolverine dies in the year 2029. Plot details remain scarce. However Reynolds has revealed that Deadpool and Wolverine will once again join forces to take on a common adversary.

The inaugural Deadpool movie, released in 2016, made cinematic history. This became the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. It also amassed a staggering $782.8 million worldwide on a modest $58 million budget. Its 2018 sequel, Deadpool 2, continued the success, raking in $785.6 million from a budget of $110 million. These triumphs laid the groundwork for the eagerly anticipated collaboration between Deadpool & Wolverine.
