Comic book fans have waited literally decades to see Wolverine don his classic costume on screen, and after that big tease in The Wolverine over a decade ago, it’s finally going to happen in Deadpool 3.

An initial glimpse of the third installment revealed Hugh Jackman donning Logan’s yellow and blue suit, a design directly inspired by the source material. However, the character’s iconic mask wasn’t there, causing initial concerns among fans that it won’t be in the movie.

Subsequently, various sources have contradicted this, assuring fans that Wolverine will indeed wear his mask and even tear off the sleeves, delivering a truly comic-accurate portrayal on screen.

Deadpool 3 Wolverine Mask: The MCU’s Most Anticipated Costume Design

Today, what appears to be a leaked first look at Wolvie’s mask in Deadpool 3 has surfaced online. Shared by @CanWeGetToast, the image seems to be a fragment of promotional artwork typically utilized for merchandising and reference purposes (access to which might explain how many social media insiders reveal mask costume details in advance).

The design is nothing short of fantastic, especially given that the Deadpool 3 Wolverine mask faithfully incorporates the white eyes from the comics. As the X-Men and Wolverine are inevitably rebooted for the MCU, a new actor will assume the role after Jackman. Nevertheless, it raises the question of how Marvel Studios will surpass or equal this exceptional design.

Last year, Jackman expressed that Wolverine and Deadpool have a “zero” level of compatibility, deeming them “opposites” and stating that they “hate each other.” The X-Men actor stated, “He’s annoyed by him. frustrated by wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head.”

“Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”

A First-Class Cast to Team Up with Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman

In addition to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, other familiar faces from the Deadpool franchise will return in Deadpool 3. These include Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus). Also, Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter). Marvel Studios has already confirmed that all of them will reprise their roles in the upcoming film.

Emma Corrin will take on the role of Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen is likely to portray a TVA agent named Paradox. According to industry reports, Jennifer Garner will be in the movie to reprise her role as Elektra. Furthermore, there are persistent rumors that Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen will be on the movie. Moreover, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Dafne Keen, and even singer Taylor Swift are among those speculated to make cameo appearances.

Theaters will release Deadpool 3 on July 26, 2024.
