The choice of Pierson Fodé for the cast of James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy appears to be certain. Many actors are on the list to play the role of the Man of Steel, Lex Luthor and Lois Lane. However, none have been cast so far. Fans also highlighted their favorites, although this new actor made it to the list of possible casting members recently.

Pierson Fodé made the last auditions phase to portray the Man of Steel and performed well. In fact, close sources claim that Gunn himself was quite surprised by the performance he gave, which left him among the first places for this role.

Pierson Fodé Surprises with his Clark Kent Performance

The choice of the actor who will portray Clark Kent and replace Henry Cavill in this character is still ongoing. Recently actor Pierson Fodé sent a Superman video showing a reenactment of Clark Kent’s childhood on a farm in Moses Lake, Washington. This one surprised everyone, especially James Gunn, who might consider the actor for the character.

Fodé has a pretty good resume, including the lead role in Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List. He also had notable roles in Toronto Man, Kill Games and Jessie. This, coupled with the video, could give him a shot at landing the role of Superman, although nothing is certain.

The whole audition for Superman: Legacy is full of suspense, especially because of the production’s secrecy. Gunn showed a lot of caution about it, something he learned from Marvel, considering that this company has a habit of revealing information almost at the end of everything.

James Gunn also has his reasons for being quiet, first, because of the criticism he and the studio in general received due to Cavill’s dismissal. This is unfavourable because they must show a solid character and a production that attracts the public and makes them forget all the negative opinions. This last point takes greater force if we consider that Superman: Legacy is the first film in the history of the new DC and the dismal results that the last films of this universe have had.

Other Actors in the Race to Become Superman

Pierson Fodé is one of the actors who impressed the production of Superman: Legacy, but he is not the only candidate. The general public requested other actors on James Gunn’s list. For example, David Corenswet was at the top of the list until recently. He even had his own fanart, sporting the costume of the last son of Krypton.

Other actors who could be on the list are Andrew Richardson and Tom Brittney. From the beginning of the casting process, they were also among the possible candidates to portray Clark Kent. However, their names were absent in the latest rumors, which does not imply that they are completely ruled out.

Nicholas Hoult, the actor who starred as Renfield, would also be on the list of candidates. Initially, rumors said that he would play the villain of the film Lex Luthor. With his past role as Beast in X-Men, the role of a smart young man could suit him well. However, recent rumors indicate that he is also among the possible actors who could get the role of Superman.

At the moment, it’s all speculation because James Gunn and company haven’t decided yet. As mentioned before, they are taking their time to choose the right actors for the first film of the new story written by Peter Safran and the director mentioned above. Considering that Superman: Legacy will release on July 11, 2025, we might have to wait long before they reveal if Pierson Fodé made its official cast.
