The Office Series Sequel on The Works According to Report

Universal Television is the production company behind the version that Greg Daniels and Michael Koman renewed. They have also preferred not to make any statements, as the production company is keeping the details of the project under wraps. At the moment, they have not made any decision on the project’s platform. In addition, sources indicate that Daniels and the studio are prioritizing making sure to refine the concept before closing a deal with an streaming service. Notably, Peacock retains exclusive streaming rights to Daniels’ original series and possible sequel, The Office. The latter acquired them for a substantial sum after the series garnered a large audience on Netflix.

The production company is keeping information about Impacciatore and Gleeson’s roles under wraps. In addition, there are high expectations associated with any projects related to this new sequel of The Office. Sources indicate that Daniels and Koman are actively pursuing talent availability for the latter part of this year. In doing so they would cast a wide net to ensure they assemble the right ensemble for the series.

As previously reported by THR, Greg Daniels, the creator of The Office, started a development room. This he did in early January to delve into a new series set in the same universe as the original NBC hit. Daniels recently recruited Koman to co-create this project. However, the accomplished screenwriter and producer does not see it as a reboot of the 2005 mockumentary, but rather as an expansion or continuation within the established universe.

Impacciatore was critically acclaimed and nominated for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Valentina. She was the manager of the hotel Sicily in the second season of HBO’s The White Lotus. Her impressive credits also include appearances on Call My Agent. She will also star in Julian Schnabel’s upcoming film, In the Hand of Dante, alongside Oscar Isaac and Gal Gadot. Impacciatore is repped by Gersh, MGMT and Gianni Chiffi.

Domhnall Gleeson recently wrapped filming for The Patient

Now, Gleeson has recently wrapped filming on FX’s limited series The Patient. He also stars opposite The Office’s Steve Carell. Gleeson’s diverse credits include David Mandel’s HBO limited series The White House Plumbers, HBO’s Run. In addition to his featured roles in the Star Wars franchise, including The Rise of Skywalker, The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens. Gleeson’s upcoming projects include the Apple film Echo Valley, co-starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney. He also appears in Fountain of Youth, where he stars alongside another former The Office star, John Krasinski, and Natalie Portman. Paradigm, The Agency and Goodman Genow are the agencies that represent Gleeson.

The upcoming version of The Office adds to Daniels’ already busy schedule. The latter recently secured a renewal for the final season of his Amazon comedy Upload. In addition, the prolific creator/producer joins forces with Mike Judge. They will do so for a new season of the endearing animated comedy King of the Hill, which will air on Hulu. Notably, Daniels and Judge helm a highly successful animation company, boasting multiple series across various streaming platforms.
