The Good Place alumna Jameela Jamil took it to Twitter to share a close-up look of herself as She-Hulk villain Titania.

A new trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law dropped at the most recent San Diego Comic-Con, and we’ve finally seen Jameela Jamil as Titania. While the trailer only gave us a few seconds of screen-time for the She-Hulk villain, its actress was generous to provide us with a closer look at the character.

On her Twitter account, She-Hulk villian Jamil shared a photo of herself as Titania. The tweet comes along with the caption, “TITANIA IS COMING TO FUCK UP YOUR DAY!” Garnering over 26.1K likes, many fans were happy to see Jamil portray the daunting character. However, some fans expressed frustrations about the character’s live-action look, particularly the red-colored wig she has on.

Jameela Jamil reacts to criticisms and shares her preparation for the role

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jamil spoke about fans’ reactions to her red-colored wig. She said,

“It was great. It’s just a wig. I love the MCU. I love the Marvel fan base. I respect them, and I was merely making sure that they knew that I was with them. I was reassuring them. I’m on their side. And so I never mind any criticism or feedback.”

She continues by praising the fans’ dedication to pushing Marvel to make appropriate changes if needed. Jamila mentions, “as long as it isn’t done in a cruel or toxic way, I’m with the Marvel fan base when they push for more — I’m into it.” We can remember that the first trailer of She-Hulk received backlash from fans. Fans called out Marvel for the quality of the VFX of the show. And this made the company do some reworks on the material.

Given that she’ll be playing She-Hulk villain Titania and fighting against Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, the character demands a bit of physicality. Jamil shared that she went through a lot of training in preparation for the role.

“For to teach me jiu-jitsu and kickboxing and kung fu and how to fight in a harness in the sky — I tried to talk them out of it when they gave me the role. But I’ve run away from the auditions for years and had to be talked into giving this a chance. Because I love Marvel and respect Marvel so much, I was afraid of letting down the fan base. That’s my biggest fear.”

In the comics, She-Hulk Titania is a mutant with superhuman strength, durability, and stamina. We can recall that the last episode of Ms. Marvel formally introduced us to mutants. But we don’t know yet if the She-Hulk villain would be of the same kind.

Playing the She-Hulk villain Titania

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Jamil reveals more details about her character. She says that Titania is “the most annoying” villain in MCU history. According to her, Titania wouldn’t need her superpowers to decimate anyone but “could just annoy you to death.”

“Titania stands out because I think she’s the most annoying of them, actually. I think she almost doesn’t need to use her strength; she could just annoy you to death. And I think that is a superpower that we haven’t really utilized enough.

She’s also very glamorous. I like the fact that she’s a bit curvy, and I like the fact that she’s completely unselfconscious. She’s completely unselfconscious and so, so weird. We’ll see.”

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be Marvel’s first full-pledged comedy superhero series. Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters would often break the fourth wall to highlight a punchline or crack a joke. It seems that a super annoying villain like Jameel Jamil’s Titania will perfectly fit the overall tone of the series.

Catch more of She-Hulk villain Titania when She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premieres on Disney+ on August 17.
