The Witcher Season 3 Premiere Now Has A Window

The Witcher season 3 premiere now has a window. It is one of the series that causes more sensation on Netflix, and until recently, there would be no date indicating the premiere until today. The streaming platform giant posted an image that gives the assurance of the next season and some additional details.

Netflix posted the image at an event of its own. It did not give many details about the start of the series, but it did show certain features and details of the protagonist.

This fact pleased and calmed the series’ fans since the filming of this season would have been delayed for various reasons. One of these was Henry Cavill’s contagion of Covid-19. The actor known for playing Superman in the DCEU now plays the role of Geralt of Rivia in this production.

Netflix did not release a specific date yet. However, it is shown that it will be in the summer of 2023. This date is if there are no further delays in the production.

Netflix revealed the image at Tudum’s event to make the new season of The Witcher official. This one showed the protagonist Grey Wolf, Witcher or Geralt, looking somewhat sinister. Black eyes, as if he was reciting some spell or enchantment on someone.

Another detail we see is that he is wearing the wolf medallion, the symbol that represents the Wolf school. However, this is not in good condition. It looks cracked and even as if it is missing parts. 

This medallion does not come alone, as we can see a swallow in the image. This element represents Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, known in the series as Ciri. This element would imply that this character will have great relevance in the Netflix series this season.

We can assume that in The Witcher season 3, not only Geralt will take Ciri into hiding to protect her. But they will have many battles along the way, which will greatly impact the state of this character’s medallion. This implies that this artifact was shattered in one of those battles.

The series premiere date will be in the summer of 2023, although still without an official date. The reason for this late release is due to delays in filming. The series was affected by the high rate of Covid infections, including actor Henry Cavill.

Fans are glad to have an estimated date for The Witcher season 3 premiere, considering there was a lot of uncertainty due to the delays. This image confirms that this third release will be released and promises many action and magical battles.

As for the series, we have several details, such as the synopsis of this new season. The plot was posted on Twitter by Netflix and describes, “As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it.”

Focused on Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer takes them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they have landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and betrayal. They must fight, put it all on the line, or risk losing each other forever.”

As for the saga’s cast, we have Henry Cavill starring as Geralt of Rivia. We also have Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Eamon Farren, Myanna Buring, Mimi Ndiweni, Anna Shaffer, Royce Pierreson, Joey Batey, Mahesh Jadu, Tom Canton, and Mecia Simmons.

Another production based on the series will be released soon: The Witcher: Blood Origin. It is a prequel to the original saga, set 1200 years before the witcher Geralt appeared. It tells the story of how the prototype of the witcher was formed and the creation of the continent.

Netflix also shared, “It tells a story lost in time: the creation of the warlock prototype and the background of the Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men and elves converge into one.”

As for the date, the streaming platform will deliver this spin-off as a Christmas present, as its premiere will be on December 25, 2022.
