Netflix just dropped the first images and the official trailer, introducing all four nations and main characters. Check out all the information we have about Avatar: The Last Airbender TV series by Netflix.

What is Avatar: The Last Airbender about?

Avatar The Last Airbender, the animated version, aired back in the mid 2000s. Both the animation and the upcoming TV series follow four nations. These are Fire Nation, Water Tribe, Air Nomads, and Earth Kingdom.

Just like the animated series, the upcoming Avatar The Last Airbender TV series by Netflix shows the 12-year-old Avatar named Aang. These nations all rely on ‘Avatars’ to maintain peace, as they hold the power of all four elements. The waterbenders Katara and Sokka will accompany Aang, as well as Zuko, the fire bender.

Netflix also revealed the plot, which follows the original story. Namely, the Fire Nation becomes ruthless in their desires to conquer the world. This is why Aang needs to stop the war from raging on.

About Netflix’s Avatar The Last Airbender TV series

Based on the animated series by the same name, Neftlix is officially working on the Avatar The Last Airbender TV series. Moreover, now we finally have the first official images, as well as the trailer.

The short trailer, just over 30 seconds long, introduced all four nations. Each of the nations control one separate element, fire, water, earth, and air. However, there have been instances in the past where a person could control all four. These people are Avatars. Now, Aang is the last surviving Avatar. He needs to maintain peace amongst the nations.

In the upcoming Avatar The Last Airbender TV series, Gordon Cormier will portray the 12-year-old Aang. Kiawentiio will join the show as Katara, the waterbender. Moreover, Ian Ousley will be Sokka, Katara’s brother. Last but not least, Dallas Liu will portray the royal firebender Zuko.

This live-action has been highly anticipated, and it seems that Netflix is doing a good job. Many fans of the OG animated series seem to be in love with the first images and the cast itself.

“Avatar: The Last Airbender live action I feel like is going to bring everything you know and love about the original series back to life,” explained Gordon Cormier (Aang). “And hopefully just bring a bunch of new fans who have never heard the show before into this universe, and to me that’s pretty exciting. I’m a fan of the show personally, and I’m just excited for this as you guys are”, he added.

When it comes to the release date, we only know it’s coming in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates!
