The Marvels, New Trailer, The Next Box Office Flop or a Hit?

The Marvel’s new trailer has just been released, and controversy has erupted. Marvel Studios is suffering its worst period in terms of the quality of its productions. After the start of Phase V of the MCU, the only movie with a good performance at the box office was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This bad streak has created a current of rejection, and fans are looking at the quality of the new productions with a magnifying glass. Marvel Studios’ “anything goes” is over, and the company is obliged to put out quality products that audiences will like. 

On top of all this, the actor who plays the great Phase V villain, Kang the Conqueror, is under fire. The actor is under legal proceedings due to an alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari last March. Luckily, the villain of this film is not Kang but Lauri-Ell, a relatively unknown character. 

The imminent release of The Marvels also has high expectations. This hype is due to the success of Captain Marvel, which grossed more than 1 billion dollars. On the other hand, the Ms Marvel series was not very well received among fans. Several elements converge here that could lead to a total box office failure.

New Trailer for The Marvels, the MCU’s Next Blockbuster or a Flop?

A new trailer for The Marvels shows part of what we will enjoy in this production. We can see Carol Danvers played by Brie Larson, talking to Nick Fury about her activities in space. Captain Marvel faces an enemy with a surprise in store for her.

The villain threatens Danvers that she will take everything she has, just as the captain did to her. The heroine proceeds to attack her. However, the strange bracelet seems to create a sort of bond between her, Kamala Khan (better known as Ms Marvel) and Monica Rambeau. This last character was officially introduced in The Wanda Vision.

The Marvels’ new trailer shows how the heroines switch places every time one of them activates her powers, causing complete chaos. We can see how Nick Fury tries to reunite the three of them to solve this situation and even to organize a team. The objective of this grouping is to be able to face the villain Lauri-Ell and the army she has. About this last one, we can notice that they are Kree because of their resemblance to Ronan the Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1.

This new footage shows that Danvers doesn’t take much joy in assembling a team. This character is characterized by her self-sufficiency, a characteristic that we can see in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. However, little by little, she shows to be accepting the situation and working together.

Another point we can comment on about Marvel’s new trailer is the mix between action, suspense and comedy. On the one hand, we can see the cold and serious side of Danvers, also the human and kind side of Monica Rambeau and finally, the comical and childish side of Kamala Khan, which can be a great combination.

The Marvel’s Reviews, Retweets and Box Office Possibilities

Marvel Studios has already held test screenings of The Marvels, and by their reviews they were satisfactory. According to several insiders, the quality of the movie directed by Nia DaCosta promises a lot of fun and entertainment. Although they clarified that its quality does not surpass that of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

It is a good possibility to boost Marvel’s Phase V, considering that it had a somewhat weak start with Ant-Man 3. One of the insiders was insider KC, who commented on his Twitter account about the quality test of the film, and how satisfactory it was and dismissed the rumors of Brie Larson’s anger for having to share the leading role.

However, not everyone felt the same way; several users commented negatively on The Marvels trailer. However, most of them were from men attacking this production because of the protagonism given to women and the little participation of men in it. 

As for the Insiders, they concluded that the movie is very good. However, this one does not surpass the quality of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. 

The movie is currently in the finishing touches to get the final product ready and start promoting the movie. Some comment that they are polishing the special effects and sound effects, a detail that has been harshly criticized at Marvel and DC.

The New Captain Marvel Movie, Box Office Expectations

In terms of box office, the movie promises a good collection, considering Captain Marvel’s impact with a collection of more than one billion dollars. However, there are some problems that will have to be solved to avoid a drop in revenues in this production.
