The Stand Trailer Gets Us Hyped For New Stephen King Adaptation
Stephen King adaptations aren’t hard to come by. The King of Horror has written so many stories worthy of films and television series, but that doesn’t mean they’re all great adaptations. Not everything can be as successful as It or Carrie, and they’re certainly not as good. So, when word of a good or even faithful new adaptation or remake arises, we know that it’s time to get excited. The latest Stephen King story is The Stand, and we just got a new trailer for it. Check it out below.

The Stand Trailer Shows Us Glimpses Of A Busy Series
The Stand is an upcoming miniseries that is set to release on December 17th, 2020, through CBS All Access. An adaptation of the 1978 novel, it tells the story of an apocalyptic world following the creation of weaponized influenza. With few survivors, the remaining population creates new social systems and means of controlling others. The fate of the world remains uncertain, but there’s plenty of chaos to go around in whatever time they have left.
The new miniseries is filled with impressive stars. This includes James Marsden, Amber Heard, Whoopi Goldberg, Ezra Miller, and Marilyn Manson. We’ll also see Alexander Skarsgård, the brother of one of our favorite Stephen King villains, Bill Skarsgård (from It and It: Chapter Two).
New York Comic Con’s online event includes a Q&A with the cast and gives more sneak peeks for the show. Give the panel a watch below if you’re interested in finding out more about the upcoming series and don’t want to wait until December!
Does The Trailer Get Us Excited?
The short trailer for The Stand is jam-packed with clues about the series. While it definitely looks exciting and interesting, it does seem like a trailer that’s targeted towards fans of the novel, the original 1994 miniseries, or just those who are faithful fans of Stephen King. It doesn’t give viewers much information about the general events of what’s to come in the series, nor does it even introduce the reason for strange events we see on screen. So, there’s a chance that non-fans might not feel inclined to give it a watch.
What do you think about the new trailer for The Stand? Let us know if you’ll be watching it with us on December 17th!
