Jonathan Majors attended court for the first time just weeks after his trial on the assault charges he has faced since March 25. The actor was arrested that day by police on a complaint for allegedly battering a 30-year-old woman.

For this reason, Majors was in court today. Being the first time he is in physical form, as he was previously via Zoom. This first meeting was to indicate the formal start date of the trial and to give indications to both about the procedure to follow.

Actor Jonathan Majors entered the lower Manhattan courtroom for the first time to begin the session to set a date for the start of the trial. This proceeding will begin on August 3, 2023, and both Majors and his accuser must be there. They also emphasized that the protective order prohibiting the two from being nearby remains in effect until the date above.

Jonathan Majors entered the court wearing dark glasses and a brown suit. Inside the session, the judge indicated the trial date. The magistrate also indicated to the actor that he should be present or, in 48 hours, he could have an arrest warrant. Major responded that he understood, stating, “Loud and Clear”. The actor went to the bank for a status conference in which he participated for a few minutes.

Currently, the actor is facing charges of assault on a 30-year-old woman. Majors allegedly mistreated her and generated bruises on his neck and head. The actor who plays Kang in the MCU was immediately arrested. However, he was released shortly after that. Since then, he has dedicated himself to defending himself and seeking to clean up his image.

Majors’ defence claims that the charges are unfounded and that they have presented evidence. Some samples are text messages from the alleged victim stating that Majors never attacked her. In fact, she insists that the one attacked in the entire incident is Jonathan Majors and that he should not go to trial since he is the victim and not the victimizer.

Majors’ defense Attorney Statements

In a statement, Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ defense attorney, asked the prosecution to prosecute the woman for the assaults against her client. They also assured that they delivered enough evidence for the prosecution to dismiss the case and proceed to charge her for her crimes. On this, Chaudhry said:

“We strongly requested the District Attorney dismiss all charges against Mr. Majors immediately and initiate proceedings against Ms. Jabbari, holding her accountable for her crimes. While we are hopeful that the District Attorney is reviewing these materials in good faith and will do the right thing soon, to accelerate our case, we’ve requested a trial date ASAP”.

Repercussions of this Legal Situation for the Marvel Actor

The repercussions for Jonathan Majors, if he goes to trial, are considerable, considering all that he has lost. First, he was fired by the public relations organization Lede Company. He was also ousted from the management of Entertainment 360.

In addition, he lost his contract with the U.S. Armed Forces on a commercial for his campaign to encourage recruitment. He also lost a commercial he would do on the Baseball team, The Texas Rangers.

As for the movie world, he was dropped from the production of The Man in My Basement. There are also rumors that he will be replaced in the role of Kang the Conqueror that he played in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and in the Loki series. Although at the moment, Marvel is not making an official pronouncement yet.

It is also worth mentioning that Amazon Prime removed his pictures for the movie Creed 3 marketing campaign. The company used only those of Michael B. Jordan.

It’s certainly not a good time for Jonathan Majors, who has already suffered a cancellation despite not going to trial. What remains to be seen is the final verdict of the proceedings. And more importantly, if he is found not guilty, will he be able to continue his career, or is he already sentenced?
