Dwayne “The Rock” Jhonson’s Black Adam and Superman finally got their moment together in DC League of Super-Pets, where The Rock also voices Krypto, Superman’s pet dog.

In the final scene, Black Adam has a small cameo with John Krasinski’s Superman. This scene shows Krypto and Anubis, the characters’ dogs, playing in the garden. Then, the last son of Krypton and the anti-hero have a conversation.

In the movie DC League of Super-Pets, fans saw the meeting they were hoping for, although not in the way they wanted. The Black Adam and Superman scene that The Rock teased about so much happened in the animated version.

The scene shows Black Adam arriving at Superman’s house while their dogs are playing in the garden, and Superman and Black Adam talk for a while. Regarding this meeting between these two characters, Dwayne Jhonson commented:

“THANK YOU for making SUPER PETS the #1 MOVIE… but did you stay til the VERY END credits… You guys already know how I feel about SUPERMAN vs BLACK ADAM… the Indestructible Force meets the Immovable Object.”

The Rock also said, “With the DC SUPER PETS UNIVERSE we had an opportunity to build out this awesome animated universe in a big, fun, cool way… So three-ish Teremana’s later I came up with an end credits idea… allow me to introduce the baddest, meanest, antihero canine walkin’ God’s green earth…. ANUBIS… Complete with his new favorite toy – squeezy Bruce Batman…”

Despite the meeting between these two DC superhero characters, the real showdown fans want to see is Henry Cavill’s Superman and Dwayne Jhonson’s Black Adam. Fans blasted social media moments before Comic-Con, with the rumor that Henry Cavill would appear at Comic-Con, which never happened.

Fans didn’t take long to react to this Superman – Black Adam meeting, and many expressed their discontent towards The Rock. They posted messages on Twitter complaining as they felt the actor tricked them into thinking he would have a scene with Henry Cavill.

DC League of Super-Pets’ Box Office Success

It may be because of the summer, but the box office is slowing down. However, that didn’t stop DC League of Super-Pets, which was in first place in total grosses with $23 million this week. Despite not surpassing the expected $25 million, it looks like Warner and DC consider it a good start.

The film premiered in 4,314 locations worldwide. These numbers surpassed Jordan Peele’s NOPE, which came in second place with $18.6 million, and Thor: Love And Thunder ranks third with $13.1 million earned in the past week.

Jeff Goldstein, Warner’s president of domestic distribution, stated how the studio feels about this initial gross “This opening is a huge win for DC fans, the box office, WB and our filmmakers.”

Goldstein stated that the opening was good considering that this movie would not be released in the summer but in May. On these dates, we would have the premiere of Black Adam, but due to problems with the graphic effects, they changed the release date of both films. Finally, the Warner executive commented on DC League of Super-Pets possibilities at the box office. He commented, “The interest is red hot,” adding, “Young family movies play for a long time. Given our CinemaScore of A- and word of mouth, we’re going to be around for a while.”
