It appears that Netflix is gearing up for a new spin-off, this time about Wednesday. According to Bloomberg, the streaming giant, inspired by the success of its Addams Family spinoff featuring Wednesday with Jenna Ortega, is now in the early stages of developing a spinoff of its own.

Wednesday gained tremendous popularity, prompting Netflix to initiate discussions about a potential second season shortly after its Season 1 debut. However, before moving forward with a second season, Netflix is reportedly exploring the possibility of another Addams Family installment, this one centering around Uncle Fester, portrayed by Fred Armisen in the acclaimed series.

An Amazing Start For Jenna Ortega in Wednesday Spinoff

Fester’s charming presence in Season 1, skillfully brought to life by Armisen, captured the essence of the character’s original quirks while introducing a darkly humorous twist. It’s evident why Netflix is eager to explore more of Uncle Fester’s character and continue the Addams Family saga.

“As with any TV show in development, there is no guarantee the Uncle Fester show will ever happen,” said reporter Lucas Shaw. “The writers have to figure out the story, the company needs to negotiate contracts with talent, and the schedules of the individuals must align.”

Netflix is unequivocally excited about building on the success of Wednesday. However, it is apparently determined to create its own Addams Family universe. Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday, hinted at something recently. The actress said that the second season of the popular series will delve even deeper into its horror elements.

“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more,” Ortega revealed. “Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.”
