There are few bigger franchises out there than Marvel. And so, when an actor joins a film or series coming from the company, we’re pretty excited for them. Sometimes these actors are up-and-coming young stars, like Florence Pugh in the upcoming Black Widow. Other times they’re seasoned professionals, like Anthony Hopkins in the Thor films. Ethan Hawke, who leans closer to the “seasoned professional” category, is the latest casting announcement to get our hearts excited. Moon Knight has just added Ethan Hawke to its cast list, giving us a villain that we never knew we needed until now.

Ethan Hawke Joins Moon Knight Cast

The news of Hawke joining Moon Knight is quite an exciting piece of information. The actor, already nominated for Academy Awards at the young age of 50, is best known for films including Boyhood, Training Day, and Richard Linklater’s Before trilogy alongside Julie Delpy. Moon Knight will be his debut into the world of superheroes and comic book adaptations, so we’re eager to see his dramatic genre change-up!

Ethan Hawke joins Oscar Isaac in Moon Knight, the Marvel Disney+ project. We know that Hawke is joining as a villain, but it’s unclear which one he will play. The hero does have quite a few enemies, including Bushman, a fellow former mercenary.

Moon Knight will be the latest Disney+ Marvel series. It follows protagonist Marc Spector, a.k.a. Moon Knight, a vigilante who lives with Dissociative Identity Disorder. Mohamed Diab will serve as the series director. Reports say that the series may begin production as early as March of 2021, so it won’t be too long before it gets to the small screen!
