It’s been some time since Hayden Christensen, the actor who developed the role of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in the first trilogy. Seventeen years have passed since her last appearance in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Darth Vader’s actor returned to this saga in Disney’s new Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Christensen has been out of character for a long time, leading him to take measures. The first has been to gain considerable weight so that the Darth Vader costume. However, he has stunt doubles to do several of the scenes. Hayden stated that he needs to be inside it to connect with this character.

The moment it became known about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and Darth Vader’s appearance in it, Christensen took steps to participate properly. Darth Vader’s actor told Fatherly about the efforts he had to make to reprise the role. Among these was gaining weight to fit into the suit.

Christensen stated that he had to gain weight to reprise the role. He stated that he had to gain between 12 to 15 kilograms. He also emphasized that he had tried to maintain weight since the movie Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. However, he returned to his old diet causing him to lose weight quickly.

Darth Vader’s actor stated, “I think that process was very important to me. It was needed to become that character again, physically. I just consumed as many calories as possible. I gained 25 or 30 pounds to fill out that suit. I’m trying to avoid dad’s body. And I was trying to maintain that Vader body after we were done. But honestly, I pretty much went back to my old diet. I deflated a little bit after that.”

Even though the actor will participate in a few scenes with Darth Vader, he has little participation in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. He claims he wants to get into the role, although doubles make several scenes in which they participate. He claims it is to be in tune with the part.

This preparation can be seen as a rehearsal for another of the productions being made by Disney+. In this case, it is about the apprentice Anakin had when he was a Jedi named Ashoka. There is a possibility that Anakin could appear in it, either in memory mode or ghost mode.

He also pointed out that even though it has some relation to the trilogy, people who have not enjoyed the movies will be able to watch them. The actor stated that this series is standalone, and therefore you will be able to enjoy it even if you have not seen the first three prequels. He stated, “If you haven’t seen the prequels or didn’t like the prequels, this show is still somewhat standalone. Plus, it has that nice summary at the beginning. That’s all you need to know.”

A Final Battle Similar to the One They Had at Mustafar

One fact that has been heavily rumored is the rematch that Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader could have in the series. In the first few episodes, they clashed. However, the Jedi was not in his best condition. In the later episodes, it was seen how this one is back to being the former Jedi Knight.

A fight between Anakin and Kenobi was seen in one poster, but the former was wearing Darth Vader’s costume. They appear in a similar lava setting as in the first battle, artists also did the second in a fire-related setting, and it looks like the third will be the same. We will have to wait if this battle between these old friends takes place and who will win. To find out, we will have to continue watching the series of Obi-Wan Kenobi by Disney +.
