The beginning of the development of Fast and Furious latest sequel got off to a rather bumpy start. That is due to the departure of its director Justin Lin, who has directed five films of this saga. There are several rumors about his resignation, the strongest being that he had issues with the producer and star of the same, Vin Diesel.

Although there have been comments on Universal Studios, there is no official reason yet. However, production solved the problem with the incorporation of Louis Leterrier. Justin Lin will not remain as director, but he will participate as producer, which was another of the roles he played.

At the moment, we don’t know what other things Lin will contribute since he was not only the director of the film but also had other responsibilities. As we mentioned, he is part of the production team of this film. He was also part of the creative team, which participated in creating and modifying the script of the tenth part of this saga.

Justin Lin Resigns from Fast and Furious due to Problems with Vin Diesel

Justin Lin resigned from the direction of Fast and Furious 10 at the beginning of its filming. Rumors say it was due to problems with the producer and star of the same, Vin Diesel. Allegedly both had creative differences after some modifications to the script brought by Diesel himself.

Many allege that it is not the first time the actor has done this, which upset the director. Supposedly, Diesel’s script had scenes that did not match the movie or did not make any sense. The constant arguments led Lin to resign from his position as director for his peace of mind, but he will remain with his activities as a producer.

Neither of the two involved has declared about it; neither Diesel nor Lin have said if they had any particular dispute. Who did comment on the matter was the company in charge of the production, i.e., Universal Studios. They stated that Fast and Furious Justin Lin resigns because of disagreements with the studio and not with any member of this film.

Lin stated some aspects of his departure, saying the following:

“With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of FAST X, while remaining with the project as a producer.” The director added, “Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases. On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family.”

Louis Leterrier to Direct the New Picture

The new director of FAST X will be Louis Leterrier. Leterrier has directed several productions, such as Lupin, the Netflix streaming series. He also led Now You See Me, a movie that grossed over $300 million.

Leterrier has a big challenge coming up, to create a sequel as good as the previous ones. Several big-name actors have already been announced to participate, in addition to the usual cast in this saga. The first is Jason Momoa, who will play the villain this time. Dwayne, “The Rock” Johnson, will not be part of this motion picture since he declared that he would not return to this saga due to the differences with Vin Diesel.

The new making of FAST X began, although it was a little rough due to Lin’s departure from the film’s direction. His place has already been taken by Louis Leterrier, who is already working on the filming. The rumors about Lin’s departure point to problems with Vin Diesel, as happened with The Rock in the past. However, we will have to wait for an official statement, if any, to find out the truth behind Lin’s resignation.
