Mister Fantastic: Dev Patel Considered Reed Richards In The MCU

The character of Mister Fantastic, also known as Reed Richards, is one of the main roles in the new Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie. The new production of this franchise is looking for a new cast for the movie that we will see in the year 2025.

One actor on the list for the character of Mister Fantastic is actor Dev Patel. The Green Knight movie star would be the number 1 choice on the list. Fans also commented a lot on his name recently on social media. This would imply that Marvel listened to their fans or there are other reasons for his possible hiring.

Dev Patel Tops the List to be Mister Fantastic In The MCU

According to comments, Dev Patel would not only be on the list of candidates for the role of Mister Fantastic, but he would be the first one. According to comments on Reddit, he would be at the top of the list. Then there would be some pretty big names like John Krasinski, Adam Driver, and Penn Badgley. 

Krasinski already played this character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, we don’t expect that he will play him again. In fact, according to the actor’s comments, he would be out of the role. This would leave Patel, Driver, Badgley and Badgley in a strong fight to play this character.

The scrabble for this role will be tough and it can even be considered that some may have some advantage. For example, there is the case of Driver who already worked for Disney once, through LucasFilm in the recent Star Wars trilogy, with the role of the Son of Hans Solo.

Badgley sounded a lot by the press because of the actor’s reputation. Patel on the other hand was sought after by the comic book world’s own fans. This support puts him in a favorable position to play Mister Fantastic. However, despite Reddit rumors that he is on top of the list of candidates, it would not imply that he would be hired. It is possible that the actor hired is not on the list.

Preparations for the Fantastic Four Upcoming Movie

Preparations for the new Fantastic Four movie are still underway. According to the plan, it will be released on February 14, 2025. That is why the preparations start with the search for the actors who will represent the four main characters. 

In this one, we will have the four members of the first family of heroes seen in the comics. If we use their first names, we will have Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards), The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and The Mole, also called The Thing. As for the rest of the main characters, Marvel hasn’t said anything.

Yet, we already know that it will not show the origin of the group’s powers. This suggests that it is not a reboot, but we will see the group formed. There is a rumor about the villain that they will face their main villain, Doctor Doom. However, if Marvel wants to follow the multiverse theme, Galactus and the Silver Slider could also be used.
