Moon Knight Episode Three Reveals A Connection to Dr. Strange – SPOILERS AHEAD

The third episode of Moon Knight has hinted at a connection to Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In addition, it shows us that since the first episode, there has been a third personality in the body of Steven Grant, the character played by Oscar Isaac.

The connection between the film and the series may mean that the Moon Knight series is tied into the entire MCU and that the events in the series are canon. Fans are excited to discover every easter egg in the Moon Knight episodes and have noticed this connection after yesterday’s episode.

The Revelations in the Third Episode of Moon Knight – Spoiler Alert!

If you haven’t yet seen the Moon Knight series or just the third episode, we recommend waiting. Watch it, as the rest of this article has spoilers. Otherwise, read on to find out how Moon Knight connects to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We know that in the MCU, magic is a critical element. As we’ve seen in characters like Agatha from WandaVision, purple magic is dark magic. On the other hand, soul magic, which is human-born magic, is orange. In the previous appearances of Dr. Steven Strange, we see that the magic related to time alteration is green. But in the recent trailer for Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness released this week by Marvel Studios, we can notice Strange Defender using a type of white magic. 

This same white magic appears in the third chapter of the Moon Knight series, in the scene where Mark Spector enters the pyramid of Ghiza and talks to the avatars of the various Egyptian gods. If we look closely at a moment when Khonshu tries to attack Arthur Harrow, the avatar of Osiris, Selim, stops him using white magic coming out of his fingers.

Bian Curtis Statements Regarding the MCU

Previously Brian Curtis, executive producer of Moon Knight, had expressed his excitement about having a different series in the MCU. Curtis stated, “We’re absolutely embracing the supernatural aspects of what was in publishing, the Egyptian gods, this ruthless Egyptian god Khonshu that manipulates Marc to do his bidding.” he also tried to steer fans away from theories of connecting this series to the MCU: “There’s no attachment to the current MCU. He’s brand-new, and he is going on a brand-new adventure. We really think the fans are going to enjoy it.” but apparently this was just a misdirection technique because the connection is becoming more and more evident.

A Third Personality in the Series?

In addition to this connection to the MCU, fans detected that since the first episode of Moon Knight, the series has been giving us signs that Steven Grant has a third personality who appears when Marc Spector is not present. Fans who have sat down to scrutinize the episode noticed that on two occasions when Mark relinquished control of the body to Steven, it appeared that another person took over the body and performed much more violent acts than usual. Also, it floats the theory that if Steven didn’t know he had made a date with his co-worker (scene from the first episode), and Mark is clearly married, and in love with his wife, someone else would have to have been the one to ask the girl out on a date.

This theory takes on more force when notice that we have yet to see Jake Lockley, from the original comics. Lockley is a rough and violent cab driver who could be the one getting the moon knight out of trouble.
