VE Schwab Adaptation “First Kill” Finds Unknowns To Cast In Lead Roles For Netflix Vampire Series
Author VE Schwab has a few adaptations in the works currently, including a potential film trilogy based on her bestselling Shades of Magic series. However, it is Schwab’s most recent story option that is getting the fast track. Back in October we reported that the short story First Kill had been picked up for adaptation. The production company belonging to actress Emma Roberts – Belletrist – were the ones to pick up the rights for the story. Now we have some news about the cast for the VE Schwab vampire series First Kill coming to Netflix.
Sarah Catherine Hook joins the cast of First Kill by VE Schwab as a relative unknown. She has appeared on several television shows like NOS4A2 and Monsterland. Hook will play the teenage vampire Juliette Fairmount. In order to claim her place in her powerful vampire family, Juliette must claim her first victim. She marks the new girl in town as prey, not knowing that she is far more dangerous than she appears.

Imani Lewis is also onboard as one of the two main protagonists cast in First Kill by VE Schwab. Lewis has a few more credits under her belt, with a recurring role on the shows Star, Hightown, and The Get Down. Imani Lewis will portray Calliope – a vampire hunter who forms a dangerous attachment to one of her mortal enemies. Both of these young women will defy their powerful and ancient families for the sake of forbidden love.

Production on First Kill is set to begin later this year in Savannah, GA. Author VE Schwab will write and executive produce the Netflix series. Felicia D. Henderson (The Punisher, Fringe, Empire) will serve as showrunner, and co-writer. No word yet on a potential release date from Netflix, but we will certainly be keeping an eye on this project from one of our favorite authors as it continues to develop.
