Although the first season of Obi-Wan Kenobi did not receive good reviews, there is still a possibility of having a season 2. The first one starring Ewan McGregor seemed to put an end to this story. Moreover, LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy declared that it was limited and that there would be no second season. However, there is apparently a slim hope for a new installment.

The director of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Deborah Chow, spoke about the possible development of a season 2 of this saga. She stressed that the possibility is remote, but it does exist since there are 10 years from the end of the series to the beginning of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, where the saga of Luke Skywalker begins.

In an interview on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, the director in charge of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series stated the possibility of a season 2. Chow emphasized that she planned all the chapters as a limited saga from the beginning. According to her comments, there should not be an Obi-Wan season 2. However, she highlighted that there is always the possibility of its development. Part of Chow’s comments were as follows:

“This was always conceived of as a limited . I’m sure you can tell from the story that it is closed. We did obviously seem to tell one big story. Who knows, there’s ten more years before ‘A New Hope‘ starts, so never say never. But for this particular , it really was conceived to be a limited .”

The filmmaker also said there are 10 years of gaps between the end of the series and the beginning of the Luke Skywalker trilogy, where we would see an old Ben again. This is enough time for an Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 to be developed. Therefore, the possibility of a second season is open.

Chow also posted this information on his Twitter account, highlighting the small possibility. Fans commented on the possible scenarios that could happen in a supposed second season. They also highlight some elements not present in this second installment.

Options for a New Season of the Jedi Master

The window of hope brought by Chow about Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 allows us to imagine a series of scenarios that could happen. First, we have the reunion of this Jedi warrior with the former Padawan of his pupil, Ashoka. This would be interesting since they never saw each other after the Clone Wars, and it would not be bad since she had her encounter with her master, but in her Sith version.

Another option that is also valid is that Obi-Wan’s former master proceeds to train him in new skills of the force, taking advantage of his ghost form. He could even show him how to improve this ability, facilitating contact between them while the 10 years pass.

One of the few points left loose was Reva Sevanders, and the inquisitorial group Vader created to track down and eliminate the remaining Jedi. The supposed season 2 may have a new encounter between Obi-Wan Kenovi and this inquisitor, plus the rest of the group after him.

Something unlikely to happen is another encounter between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan. Considering that in A New Hope, they state that they have a long time without seeing each other, it is unlikely to appear. Also, it would be too monotonous to have another meeting between the two and would have no excitement.

Until Lucasfilm confirms Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, you can enjoy the first season on the Disney+ platform.
