A dream that could not be fulfilled 25 years ago for actor Nicolas Cage will be a reality in Ezra Miller’s The Flash. The artist aimed to play the Man of Steel, but he could never achieve it. The closest he came was a production 25 years ago by Tim Burton that never saw the light of day.

This tremendous spoiler was released by The Flash director Andy Muschietti himself, who confirmed the cameo of Superman that never was in an interview with Esquire Middle East. The director did not give many details about the character’s brief appearance and what he would do. However, he emphasized that for both him and the actor, it was an unforgettable experience and that he would like to work alongside him.

Andy Muschietti has just confirmed a rumor that has been floating around about Nicolas Cage’s involvement as Superman in The Flash. In an interview with Esquire Middle East, the filmmaker assured the actor’s appearance as Superman, replacing Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel in the DCEU finale.

Muschietti noted that he sought out the actor because he loves his work and the professionalism he shows in every film he stars in. He also emphasized that Nicolas Cage has great affection and admiration for the character of Superman, and it is a dream for him to portray him in The Flash. So much so that in his short interpretation of the Man of Steel, he showed a high rapport with the character. On these details, the director commented:

“Nick was absolutely wonderful. Although the role was a cameo, he dove into it. I dreamt all my life to work with him. I hope I can work with him again soon”. The director continued, “He is a massive Superman fan. A comic book fanatic.”

The DCEU is saying goodbye in a way, as we see cameos of the most representative characters of this story. For example, we saw Gal Gadot briefly as Wonder Woman in Shazam 2, when she revives Billy Batson. Now it would be the return of Superman, although not at Cavill’s feet. The actor was dismissed against his will and did not have a good relationship with the studio.

An important aspect to note is the appearance of two characters developed by Tim Burton. We have Batman 1989, played by Michael Keaton and Nicolas Cage’s Superman in The Flash. Cage’s character, despite not being completed, had a great story behind it.

The Actor’s Dream to Portray The Man of Steel

Nicolas Cage always dreamed of portraying Superman, and now with The Flash, his time has come. Cage’s fanaticism for the character is such that his son has the Kryptonian name Kal-El. He also came to own one of the strangest comics of Superman Action Comics No. 1. However, the copy was stolen from his home. Here we tell you the bizarre story.

Nicolas Cage’s cameo in The Flash will be his chance to play the last son of Krypton. The actor almost made it in 1998 with the production of the movie Superman: Lives, directed by Tim Burton. Cage once confessed that he sought the filmmaker to apply for the job and got it. There is even a documentary about this never released film.

However, various reasons led the studio to cancel the production. However, the production reached a fairly advanced stage. The screenwriter Kevin Smith finished the script, and Nicolas Cage got to do costume fittings. One curious aspect is the costume design was not far from the one we later saw in Man of Steel.

So officially, we will see Nicolas Cage as Superman on June 16 in the premiere of The Flash.
