The marketing campaign for the new Mission Impossible movie, Dead Reckoning, Part I kicked off with Tom Cruise touring London to promote the movie. Paramount is looking for a glorious premiere, setting a new box office record for the franchise. Currently, the best result is 2018’s Mission: Impossible: Fallout, with a 3-day local gross of $61.2 million.

The team wants a better performance than that. In fact, they are aiming for a similar success to Top Gun: Maverick, which grossed approximately $1.5 million in theaters worldwide. Cruise says this new Ethan Hunt movie will be a spiritual sequel, even though the two plots are totally different.

Paramount aims to start the new Mission Impossible movie with 90 million dollars in the first five days of release and aims to reach at least 65 million dollars in the first three days of transmission in theaters.

To this end, its star Tom Cruise is in Europe, specifically in London, and is expected to go to Rome soon to promote the film in this territory. The production and the actor do not have it easy, considering that the film will have its official release on July 12, 2023.

If these estimates from Paramount and Skydance come true, the new Mission Impossible movie would be the highest-grossing movie ever. It currently leads 2018’s Mission: Impossible: Fallout with $61.2 million. Next came 2000’s Mission Impossible II with a gross of $57.8 million.

The film has a similar feel to Top Gun: Maverick; in fact, it is rumored to be a sort of sequel on a mental or emotional level. It would be great for Paramount if the new Mission Impossible movie grosses a similar amount to this film.

Tom Cruise is the main tool to boost this movie. Because of his previous successes and the fame that this actor harbors: That is why Paramount is taking advantage of the actor’s popularity to grow even more in terms of turnover.

Christopher McQuarrie was in charge of this production as director, although Tom Cruise surely had a lot of weight in the direction. The new Mission Impossible movie will show Ethan Hunt with even more extreme stunts. In fact, in initial statements, Cruise himself indicated that there will be a pretty risky one and that it would be quite a spectacle to watch.

The cast of the new Mission Impossible movie stars Tom Cruise but also includes other renowned actors such as Rebecca Ferguson, Cary Elwes, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney and Charles Parnell.

This will be the penultimate production, considering that this production is divided into two parts. Paramount will premiere the first one on July 12, 2023, as previously mentioned, and the second will premiere on June 28, 2024.

With these two productions, they would end a saga that Cruise himself started in 1996. Because of this, Paramount wants to take advantage and close with golden clasp and not only surpass the past installments of the franchise. The goal is that its results will be better than those of Top Gun: Maverick.

For now, we will have to wait until July to see if it manages to gross 90 million in the first five days of transmission. We will also keep an eye out for any comments, trailers or other information that Paramount and Tom Cruise may provide on the new Mission Impossible movie.
