One of the most exciting times to play Animal Crossing is the November-December run. There are two major events in each game and New Horizons is no different. In a new video from Nintendo, the upcoming update looks to be full of new activities, reactions, and more. The Animal Crossing winter update goes live this Thursday and has lots of fun content planned for players. From Toy Day, Turkey Day, and more, there’s going to be plenty to keep you busy these next two months. Plus, we got to see a few new updates to things like hairstyles, reactions, and home storage. Here’s a full rundown of everything you need to know!

Animal Crossing Winter Update – Two Major Holidays

Firstly, let’s get one thing straight: this is the prime time to be playing Animal Crossing New Horizons in the Northern Hemisphere. For starters, the game’s two most exciting holidays are coming up. It seems like Halloween festivities just finished, but we’re already looking forward to new adventures in the game. The first one coming up is Turkey Day, which is, you guessed it, American Thanksgiving. In the new video reveal, we get a glimpse at what’s planned for this holiday. All villagers gather in the main square outside Resident Services to feast!

There are a ton of fun pots and pans cooking up delicious food and a new visitor. First-class chef Franklin the turkey is coming to your island to help serve delicious meals to everyone. Of course, he’ll need your help. He’ll ask you to gather ingredients like pumpkins to ensure he has everything he needs. Hopefully, you didn’t scrap all your pumpkin starts after Halloween ended. Turkey Day takes place on November 26.

Secondly, it’s time to celebrate Toy Day! In short, Toy Day is the Animal Crossing equivalent of any number of winter holidays. Overall, you’ll help Santa’s assistant Jingle the Black-Nosed Reindeer with present delivery. If you have the time, then you can also decorate your entire island with a ton of fun holiday decor. Overall, delivering presents is a blast because your villagers get super excited. Plus, you can likely earn yourself some nice points before the holiday is finished. I’m most excited about the decor that comes for Toy Day, as well as some snowy backdrops to enjoy.

Reactions, Looks, and Lots More!

The video announcement ends with many new features coming to the game. Firstly, Nook Miles can be redeemed to purchase two new items. You’ll get new hairstyles as well as a reaction collection. Overall, the reactions look to be a lot of fun, including things like yoga and taking selfies. Secondly, there’s going to be a huge upgrade in storage for your house! If you talk to Tom Nook, then you’ll be able to upgrade your internal storage of items from 1,600 to 2,400. That’s going to help a lot of people who don’t want to get rid of anything they’ve collected.

Thirdly, save data transfers are coming this Thursday in the new update. If you’re not sure what this means, then let me explain. You can now transfer your save data from the game to a new console. This is going to be helpful if people get a new Switch this holiday or move to a Switch Lite for portability. Finally, the video ends with Nintendo promising the next free update in January. This might bring about even more fun events and items ahead of Spring. It seems like so long from now, but this latest Animal Crossing winter update should keep us busy for the time being.

If you’re excited about a new update included this Thursday, then let us know in the comments. Thanks for reading Comic Years for all things gaming, comics, and pop culture.
