Shazam! Fury of the Gods New Trailer Just Released!

Shazam, Fury of the Gods had a notable lack of Marketing by Warner Bros. less than 3 months before its release. Now we finally have the trailer for the movie.

A new trailer for the movie Shazam 2 has just been released. We got our first look at the movie’s villains in this footage. These characters will be the daughters of the god Atlas, who will come looking for the powers of the champions because they think they stole them. We will see a lot of action and suspense, and Shazam will likely have to make sacrifices to save himself this time.

As for these villains, no one expected them because they do not appear in any of the Shazam comics. However, their father, Atlas does have some scenes in the comics. It may have to do with the new plot Gunn wants at DC, and he wants to incorporate these new characters into the comic book universe.

The new Shazam sequel is coming soon, and the trailer revealed several elements that deserve analysis. First, we have the main character inhabiting an optimal family environment and apparently getting along well with the rest of the champions. However, in Shazam! Fury of the Gods could be the end of that team.

The reason for this possible outcome is the appearance of the Atlas daughters. In total, we have three goddesses who will seek to take the team’s powers. These are Kalypso, Athea, and Hespera, who, using a strange staff, will take away each champion’s powers, meaning the team’s end.

We can also see in the trailer the wizard who advises the team and warns Billy about the danger. He is even seen to be apprehended at some point by the trio of goddesses. In the footage, we see how these get the powers of the vast majority of members, and we see Shazam make a difficult decision. At the moment, we don’t know what it is, although it must be quite a risky situation by the look of the wizard and the rest of the superheroes.

The situation is complicated by a monster summoned by the goddesses, which causes problems for everyone. This one helps to defeat the great majority, although it is seen as Shazam faces this one with a dark tone that we had never seen in the character.

Will This be the End of Shazam?

After seeing the trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods, one doubt many fans have is whether it will be the end of the character or continue in Gunn’s DC universe. As for the film’s backstory, it’s ideal for him to stick around, considering the type of production Gunn and Safran want to produce. However, the plot leaves a lot of doubt as to whether it will continue.

In one of the scenes in the trailer of Shazam, Fury of the Gods makes one think this is the end of all the characters. We deduce this from the anguished face of most heroes when Shazam decides to solve everything by himself. The magician also mentions the dangers of fighting this time.

There is also a shocking scene where Barry faces the witch’s monsters alone. He goes with the staff but alone, which hints that he will live in a moment of great tension and danger. 

Shazam! Fury of the Gods opens in theaters on March 17, 2023.
