Netflix’s newest adaptation, Cursed, is quickly becoming one of the most highly anticipated upcoming shows for the streaming service. Cursed To Be Next Big Thing For Netflix

The series will be an adaptation of Cursed, an illustrated novel by Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller. Its story is inspired by an Arthurian tale and is told from the perspective of Nimue (Katherine Langford). According to Netflix’s series description, Nimue is “destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake,” and partners up with Arthur in her search for Merlin. Together the pair must deliver a sword, though the adventure only gets more complicated from there.

Both Miller and Wheeler are serving as the show’s executive producers, giving fans of the original novel faith that it’ll stick to the source material. The series, which also stars Devon Terrell as Arthur and Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin will begin with a 10-episode first season.

A Series Worth Looking Forward To

Legends about King Authur have been inspiring film and television stories for decades. Shows like Merlin have managed to take the inspiration of such long-lasting legends and turn it into something unique and exciting. Considering how much luck Netflix has had with old-timey and fantasy-filled tales, we have faith that they’re the right place for Cursed.

So, have you read the original illustrated novel? We’d love to hear what your expectations are for the show. And for those new to the story, does this first look make you want to watch the upcoming series? Let us know!

She has always been the go-to gal for talking about anything film related and has a frustratingly long list of movie trivia up her sleeve. She is currently working on her first screenplay, as well as a horror novel, with the goal of publishing it while Stephen King is still around to read it.
