Mark Hamill, the actor who portrayed Luke Skywalker in several Star Wars films and spin-offs, will sell memorabilia. Just as Luke brought peace to the universe, Mark is looking to do so in Ukraine. The actor was recently appointed as an ambassador for the Ukrainian Drone Army project. He will auction off collectible items to fund the Ukrainian army and defeat Russian war forces.

Hamill said there would be several autographed, limited-edition posters for a select audience. These will sell at a considerably high price to end this war, reaching its first anniversary on February 24th. He emphasized that war is horrible and that, unlike Star Wars, it is real, and we must do something about it.

Mark Hamill to sell Star Wars Posters

Hamil said in an interview that he would sell limited-edition posters of the Star Wars franchise. He said it’s an activity he hasn’t done for six years. However, since it’s a good cause, he will take it up again. The actor said he would sell these items with his autograph and raise funds to supply equipment to the Ukrainian army.

The Jedi commented in the interview, “We decided to sign Star Wars posters, a limited amount, for real hardcore collectors — especially those that have disposable income — you can get way more money … than you would imagine.”

Hamill emphasized that he hadn’t sold memorabilia since 2017, when he made Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, he was appointed as an ambassador to send supplies to Ukraine. Therefore, he said it is important to do his bit to end this bitter war that caused many civilian and military casualties.

Helping Ukraine’s Democratic Government

The Star Wars star said the intergalactic franchise teaches people to do the right thing. Mark Hamill said he hopes his contribution to selling Star Wars memorabilia will go a long way in helping Ukraine’s democratic government emerge victorious and good prevail over evil. He added that the morale of all productions is “doing the right thing for the good of everyone, rather than being all about self-interest.”

Hamill also commented on the war situation: “the stark reality of what’s going on in Ukraine, is harrowing. Anything I can do , however small it is, is something I feel obligated to do…Drones are so vital in this conflict. They are the eyes in the sky. They protect the border, they monitor…”

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, praised the Star Wars actor’s will to sign and sell these posters. He considers the narrated story of his character, Luke Skywalker, as a point of inspiration for his people. Good defeating evil and surviving are part of the aspects that the politician wishes to reflect on his people.

The Last Jedi also commented on his views of the current situation, such as, “I know for certain that Ukrainians need drones to protect their land, their freedom and the values of the entire democratic world.” Hamill added, “right now is the best time for everyone to come together and help Ukraine stand up in this war with the evil empire.”

The number of posters and Star Wars memorabilia that Mark Hamill will be signing and selling is still unsure, but Politico says the sale will start today.
