A tweet published by director Jared Bush states that the Encanto 2 movie rumors may be true, and a sequel is possible. Despite its slow start, Disney’s Encanto has been one of the industry’s most well-known hits. It didn’t have a huge impact when released in theaters worldwide, but the story changed when it appeared on Disney+. The success it has had, positioning it in the first places of transmission, is making fans beg for part two.

Currently, Encanto is still one of the most-watched productions on this platform. It’s also one of the most-watched in the transmissions of various companies together. This one has been so successful that Disney has cataloged it as one of its best creations.

Some think that the poor success of the film was caused by COVID-19 and the fear to expose oneself going to the movies. The success in streaming was a combination of the movie’s quality and the ability to watch it from the comfort of your home.

Encanto Will Have a Sequel

Fans have asked in multiple ways for a sequel to this Disney production. It seems like the movie was so good, it left fans wanting so much more. Encanto 2 movie rumors began to surface, but there’s nothing official. However, a Tweet gave a glimmer of hope that a sequel is coming.

The tweet was published by the director of Encanto, Jared Bush, who stated that the second part of this film is entirely possible. Bush emphasized that the power for a sequel to happen is in the hands of the fans. Part of Bush’s Tweet statements were:

“I’m asked a LOT if there’ll be more #Encanto – movies, TV, Theater, etc.,” adding, “I’ll say this, it was always our dream, but the real deciders are the fans who found themselves in this story, who saw their family in ours, who chose to spend time with the Madrigals… and want to again.🙏”

As we can notice, the idea of a sequel is already in the minds of Encanto’s producers. It only remains to wait for Disney’s statements on the matter and when we will see it in theatres and Disney+.

The Success Behind the Blockbuster

Disney had not had a hit in a long time in its productions, but Encanto definitely took the drought out of them. Encanto was a resounding success on the streaming channel of this company, even though it did not have much affluence in theaters. The audience loves Encanto’s songs like We don’t talk about Bruno and hope for Encanto 2 to bring more musical hits.

The movie’s success on Disney’s channel was immediate, as it aired on Christmas Eve. It instantly had a high number of viewers and sustained that number for consecutive days. These numbers were already good for a Disney production and even more for the animated film industry.

Encanto revolves around a girl who lives in Colombia, more specifically in Madrigal. According to the story, each member of Maribel’s family received a gift; however, she didn’t have any. Maribel begins a journey that triggers an incredible adventure.

The second part of Encanto is not yet official. However, after the director’s statements on Twitter, it seems that we will have one. The only thing missing is the official announcement from Disney, along with a release date. Hopefully, it will be an equal, if not bigger, success than the first part.
