The Disney-owned 20th Century Studios released the first teaser trailer for the sci-fi film Avatar: The Way of Water. It will be a direct sequel to the original film Avatar, which was released in 2009.

The sequel’s director, producer, and screenwriter was also James Cameron. The first film’s stars, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, returned to the set. Some images from the movies leaked online earlier in the year.

Avatar: The Way of Water actually has a trailer going for a week, but you couldn’t see it. Unless you first purchased a ticket to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Thankfully, Disney has made the full trailer available online after a brief period of theatrical exclusivity. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana return to Avatar 2. Along with restoring cast members Sigourney Weaver and Giovanni Ribisi, Avatar 2 features a number of new actors and characters. That includes Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh.

What is The MovieAbout?

The story will take place about two decades after the events described in the first part. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) faces new challenges on Pandora’s oceans, where he will have to fight with pirates who are trying to destroy his tribe. Since we last saw Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) in the first Avatar, he’d become the Na’vi’s savior after being embraced as a part of their clan, absolved for being a human spy, and eventually making a decision to side with the aliens in their fight against humanity to save Pandora. Jake could make a fresh start on Pandora, whose environment is poisonous to human beings, by transmitting his awareness into the body of his human / Na’vi hybrid avatar, Neytiri (Zoe Saldana).

The film’s title refers to an Avatar, or genetically engineered Na’vi body operated from the brain of a remotely located human that is used to interact with the natives of Pandora. Avatar stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, a paralyzed former Marine who becomes part of an interstellar mission sent for the purpose of establishing diplomatic relations with the indigenous population on Pandora and exploiting its mineral wealth for profit. Zoe Saldana plays Neytiri, an exotically beautiful Na’vi woman who becomes Jake’s love interest; Stephen Lang plays Colonel Miles Quaritch, leader of the military forces stationed on Pandora; Michelle Rodriguez plays Trudy Chacon, a warrior pilot; and Sigourney Weaver plays Grace Augustine, Head scientist in charge of developing advanced weapons technology for use against any possible resistance on Pandora.

Avatar is a 2009 science fiction film set in the mid-22nd century, when humans are colonizing Pandora. It’s a lush, habitable moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system. The expansion of the mining colony threatens the continued existence of a local tribe of Na’vi. They’re humanoid species indigenous to Pandora. A genetically engineered Na’vi body operated from the brain of a remotely located human interacts with the natives of Pandora.
