A few weeks ago, we learned that the star of the Die Hard franchise, Bruce Willis suffers from a disease. The actor had problems in his most recent films, such as forgetting lines or not being able to coordinate his dialogue well in some scenes.

At that time, he was diagnosed with aphasia, a disease that would take him out of acting for good. This diagnosis was wrong, although it is not good news, considering that he has a worse disease. Bruce Willis has a disease that progressively weakens the patient; this is frontotemporal dementia or FTP.

The actor recently underwent several tests for communication difficulties. The family and other experts thought it was aphasia, considering that his symptoms were consistent with the actor’s condition. However, further tests confirmed that Bruce Willis disease is FTP dementia.

This was stated by the actor’s wife, Emma Willis on her personal Instagram social network account. She commented that the symptoms are similar to aphasia, including personality changes and memory loss. Although it is difficult for them, they commented that knowing the condition suffered by Bruce Willis is a relief.

As for the doctors’ prognosis is not encouraging, considering that the disease is incurable at the moment. They also assured that Bruce Willis disease is degenerative and affects the frontal lobe, affecting speech and memory. So it is likely that the actor’s condition will continue to decline until his death.

Many came out to offer their support to the Willis family. One of these is Jake Tapper, who said, “Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with the disease Frontotemporal Dementia, his family says. FTD is a profoundly cruel disease, my beloved father in law Tom suffered from it for years before he died. Sending all my love and prayers to their family”.
