Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito enjoyed a Twins reunion at the Oscars, teaming up to present the awards for Best Visual Effects to Godzilla Minus One and Best Film Editing to Oppenheimer. However, it was Danny Devito humorous remarks about the Penguin and Batman that became the highlight, eliciting uproarious laughter from the Oscars audience.

Danny DeVito’s Playful Encounter as the Penguin with Michael Keaton/Batman at the Oscars: ‘He Threw Me Out a Window!’

“Arnold and I are presenting tonight together for a very obvious reason,” DeVito said.

“We’ve both tried to kill Batman!” Schwarzenegger revealed to applause.

Danny DeVito portrayed the Penguin in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, engaging in conflicts with Michael Keaton’s Batman and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman. On the other hand, Arnold Schwarzenegger faced off against George Clooney’s Batman as the villainous Mr. Freeze in the critically panned “Batman and Robin.” During the Oscars, Schwarzenegger humorously mentioned that his character was defeated when Batman “used my one weakness against me,” referring to Mr. Freeze’s deep love for his deceased wife.

“Oh. He threw me out a window!” Danny DeVito exclaimed about his Penguin death. “There he is. He’s right here. He’s right there. Look!”

The camera later shifted to Michael Keaton in the crowd. Earlier in the evening, Keaton had presented at the Oscars, sharing the stage with his fellow Beetlejuice cast member, Catherine O’Hara.

“You have a lot of nerve to show your face around here,” Schwarzenegger teased Keaton.

DeVito exclaimed, “We’ll see you after the Governor’s Ball, pal!”

Michael Keaton’s Recent Return As Batman

It’s been several years since Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito portrayed their comic book villains on the big screen. However, Keaton recently returned as Batman last year, reprising the superhero in a supporting role alongside Ezra Miller in Warner Bros.’ The Flash.

“When arrived on set, the Batcave was already finished, lit, and everything,” said The Flash director Andy Muschietti in an interview with IGN before the film’s release. “He stayed like this for a while. I didn’t want to interrupt him. I just wanted for him to take it in. Who knows what was going on there? But something was going on there.”

“It was funny because at one point during the scene where we shot him in the full suit, he was like, ‘Can you take a picture? It’s for my grandson,'” Muschietti added. “It was one of those moments where he really showed something was inside that was very emotional.”

The amusing reunion between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito at the Oscars, revisiting their Twins connection, infused the event with a delightful mix of nostalgia and entertainment. Reflecting on their performances as antagonists in the Batman films, the friendly banter the actors shared and their playful exchange with Michael Keaton became highlights that resonated with fans, celebrating the enduring connection between these iconic Hollywood figures. Despite the years since they played their memorable characters, the evident on-stage chemistry underscored the enduring nature of their friendship, delighting enthusiasts of their cinematic journeys.
