Blue Beetle New Trailer: Full Review Of The Next DC Release
Today we will take an in-depth look at the new trailer for Blue Beetle. This latest trailer gives us more clues about the plot, the villain and the hero’s journey that Jaime Reyes will have in this movie. DC and Warner want to send off the old DCEU in style before James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new storyline starts. Now they are incorporating new characters. One of them is Blue Beetle, the hero who an alien beetle attacks.
This will be the penultimate production of the DCEU. However, Gunn stated that he could appear shortly if the results of this film are good. To provoke a good result, they released the trailer of this filming full of action and many emotions to know the origin of this character.
Blue Beetle: Final Trailer Breakdown
Dc officially released the final trailer for Blue Beetle, where we see Jaime Reyes acquiring the Blue Beetle against his will. At the beginning, we see the Reyes family question the woman who gave them the box containing the alien insect for this action, as it caused the insect to infect them. However, she indicated that she thought this was not possible. The reason is that the insect is the one who chooses its carrier.
In the scene where it infects Jaime, we see how the beetle opens its legs, inserts itself into Jaime’s face, and is absorbed. At this point, it reveals the armour for the first time. We then see how the beetle controls the young man’s body and makes him fly all over the city. One of the scenes that struck us the most is when it cuts a bus in two. Yet, we already saw something similar in Marvel when Doctor Strange did the same thing in his last film.
The problem is that the organisation that held the scarab captive wants their alien back to make an army of intelligent armour. The Blue Beetle’s new trailer shows a battlesuit factory, and they need the bug to upgrade it. One of Victoria Kord’s men attacks Jaime and his family. At this point, he begins to control his armour and gets along with the alien.
We see how Kord insists on obtaining the alien, using the family as bait. However, the family joins forces and uses the organisation’s weapons. Then they have an epic showdown that brings this new character to life. A shocking part of the Blue Beetle new trailer is the sight of Jaime’s own grandmother grabbing a cyclic machine gun. Then she attacks the soldiers of the sociopathic villain of this production.
Will DC Films’ Next Movie Succeed?

This film is coming out at terrible timing. Moreover, there are too many references to the MCU. Firstly, Jaime’s interaction with his suit is very similar to Peter Parker’s interaction with his suit in Spider-Man Homecoming. The Blue Beetle suit itself is very similar to the Iron Spider suit we saw in the MCU. Lastly, we have the bus scene, which we literally saw just like in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The timing is either not right or the film has deliberately copied elements from its competitor. In addition, James Gunn stated on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast, Inside of You, that Blue Beetle will be the first character from his new universe to appear.
However, it depends on his box office performance in cinemas, which will be released on August 17, 2023. DC and Warner hope it will do better than The Flash, which was a total catastrophe and may have buried Sasha Calle’s new Supergirl character, although it was the best thing about it, according to critics.
The film stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, the young man who will have the honour or regret of being infected by the Blue Beetle. As we saw in the Blue Beetle new trailer, the rest of the cast consists of Bruna Marquezine, who portrays Jenny Kord. We also have Oscar winner Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, Damian Alcazar as Alberto Reyes and Raoul Trujillo as Conrad Carapax.
The director is Angel Manuel Soto, and he also co-wrote the script with showrunner Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. The version they captured is not the original developed in 1939 but the more current variation created in 2006 by John Rogers, Keith Giffen and Cully Hammer.
