Thunderbolts movie is officially in development. Marvel has confirmed that the director of the film will be Jake Schreier. This decision only confirms that Marvel Studios is committed to supporting independent talent groups to find their filmmakers.

And, of course, we fans have 2022’s SDCC and D23 Expo to thank for revealing more details about this highly anticipated film, which has been in a whirlwind of rumors, where it was unknown if it would be produced or not.

It is not a secret that many Marvel moviegoers eagerly waited for the Thunderbolts team to appear in the MCU. The cast and production of this movie have now been confirmed. It is good to remember the unconditional support of Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier, to which the general public is betting that he will be given a more significant leadership role.

Likewise, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine has carried out an exemplary recruitment process. What we have been able to confirm with the selection made in Black Widow and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Hopefully, he will continue to contribute to this Thunderbolts movie officially in development.

Baron Zemo originally formed this team after the death of the Avengers. But the world was unaware that this new Thunderbolts team was Zemo’s master of evil in disguise. As time goes by, these former villains begin to enjoy being heroes and doing good, so they prefer to overthrow Zemo as their leader.

The Thunderbolts have changed significantly over time, so their alignment and leadership are not the same as they started. So since they started until now, several members have left, and others have joined. But if something distinguishes them from the Avengers, it is that the Thunderbolts are much more morally gray.

The Plot of the Movie

With Thunderbolt’s movie officially developing, many fans wonder about the plot. At the moment, it is still unclear, and we don’t know if there is a script or not. So, it is possible some MU adaptation of a version of the origin story, where they show the team from the comics and how Zemo recruited them. Although, as with Marvel, anything is possible. They may give up the original group and simply turn them into a team of anti-heroes.

The Thunderbolts team has varied over time. However, some characters remain in the MCU. We can mention Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier personified by Sebastian Stan. Also, Baron Zemo, portrayed by Daniel Bruhl, Luke Cage as Mike Colter, Clint Barton/ Hawkeye as Jeremy Renner, Wilson Fisk/ Kingpin as Vincent D’Onofrio, and Osborn/ Green Goblin as Willem Dafoe.

So, we await which of them repeats in the official cast of Marvel’s Thunderbolts, which was already announced at D23 Expo 2022. We know that possibly in the changes will lead Yelena Belova starring Florence Pugh, Red Guardian will be David Harbour, Taskmaster as Olga Kurylenko, Ava Ghost as Hannah John – Kamen, and of course there is Bucky Barnes.

The Release Date of Thunderbolts Movie

The release date for Thunderbolts is set to be shot this summer 2023. The Marvel Studios team announced in 2022 that the director will be Jake Schreier, and Black Widow’s Eric Pearson will write the script. In this way, the project is becoming more solidified.

If there’s one thing we know, Marvel’s lineup is packed. So, if there are changes in the release date of this movie, it is not surprising. Marvel’s Thunderbolts belongs to Phase 5, so its previews are imminent.
