Brad Pitt is still rocking the big screen, as we can see in the trailer for his 2022 movie Bullet Train. The talented, longtime actor, winner of the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 2020 for the movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, fights the music star Bad Bunny in his latest action film. The novel by Kōtarō Isaka, published in Japan in 2010, is the inspiration for this film. It will be directed by David Leitch, known for making films such as Hobbs & Shaw or Deadpool 2. Bullet train is an action thriller that will hit theaters this summer.

But what else do we know about Bullet Train? Keep reading as we reveal all the details of its release date, plot, and the cast that will be in the film.

What Is the Bullet Train Movie About?

The film is about five assassins, including Pitt, who travel on one of Japan’s famous modern bullet trains en route from Tokyo to Morioka. At first, the hitmen go on separate missions and do not know each other; however, they soon discover their targets connect to each other. That will lead to a fun, fast-paced, absurd and, above all, action-packed plot.

Brad Pitt plays the leading role, and the film will also feature such prominent figures as Sandra Bullock, Andrew Koji, and Joey King. The cast also incorporates actors and actresses from the Marvel universe, such as Brian Tyree Henry (Eternals), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2).

However, something that has left no one indifferent is the appearance of Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, AKA Bad Bunny. At the moment, it’s uncertain if his appearance will be a short cameo or a leading role, but he certainly has enough prominence in the trailer.

Trailer That Has Already Lifted Expectations for the 2022 Film

From what we have seen so far, the movie has a high potential to be a fun action-comedy. The visual effects of the bullet train are very well done, judging from the trailer. The “silent car” factor promises to be a constant trigger towards absurd and comical situations within the fight scenes, aiming to have a high-quality choreographic direction.

Being an adaptation of a Japanese novel, it has not taken long for controversy to erupt over the predominance of Western actors in the film. However, the book refers to many of the characters with ethnically ambiguous names, so there should be no problems. What is certain is that the trailer suggests that it will be an excellent classic action movie, something that is missing in today’s movie theaters. At the very least, the Bullet Train trailer suggests this film is a test case in 2022, a year packed with big crossover superhero sequels.

Bullet Train hits movie theaters July 15, 2022.
