Netflix Announces Tudum, Their First Ever Star Studded Global Fan Event
Virtual fan events took over the regular in-person conventions during the recent 1.5-year-long Pandemic. And counting. Many studios presentations, festivals and conventions went virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions. By doing so it allowed them an opportunity to engage fans in a different way. Now one of the leading streaming services joins the arena with their own such event. The recently announced Netflix Tudum Global Fan Event is going to be on September 25. And the teaser accompanying the announcements sees some of the streamer’s biggest stars creating excitement for the event.
Netflix’s Marketing Is Always On Point

Netflix is getting into an awesome groove by promoting their content with the use of their own stars. Instead of any actual footage from those shows & movies. It’s actually very ingenious. Seeing the stars excited for their own stuff is quite infectious and makes us get pretty excited too. This time around it’s for the promotion of the Netflix Tudum global fan event. It’s their first ever event of this kind that promises to show off 70+ of their original content. The teaser video released with the announcement is a cute one with the stars all debating about how to pronounce ‘Tudum’.
The global fan event is named after the tone that comes the Netflix logo at the beginning of their programming. Unsure of how to pronounce the word, the majority of the teaser is all the stars trying to figure out how to say it. While Henry Cavill of Netflix’s The Witcher series puts on a straight chiselled face and provides a brief overview of what the Netflix Tudum global fan event really is.

The stars that appear in the teaser gives clues as to what we can expect. The teaser sees almost everyone from the main child (not anymore?) cast from Strangers Things, such as Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo and Millie Bobbie Brown (Enola Holmes) as well. Given we got a brief teaser for season 4 recently, we may get the full trailer at Tudum. Cavill’s inclusion could also mean that the full trailer for The Witcher season 2 might also premiere at Tudum. The Sex Education stars are also in this, along with Jason Bateman (Ozark), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever) and, surprisingly, John Cho from the upcoming Cowboy Bebop series.
On the movie front, we’ve got bigger movie stars like Charlize Theron and The Rock (Jungle Cruise) potentially with an update on The Old Guard sequel, and a full trailer for Red Notice, from each of the stars, respectively. We also have Regina King, Idris Elba and Jonathan Majors show up, potentially promoting their upcoming Netflix original western, The Harder They Fall. With all these first looks, trailers and news about these shows and movies, I’m definitely looking forward to it. Hopefully by then we’ll have a definite decision on how to say ‘Tudum’.
When And Where Is Tudum Premiering?
Netflix Tudum Global Fan Event live streams on September 25 at 9 AM PT on Netflix’s YouTube channels. While special pre-shows showcasing Korean, Indian and Anime content will stream on Netflix’s specialty YouTube channels starting from 5 AM PT.
