American Crime Story might be less beloved than its horror-centric sister show, but it’s great nonetheless. The People v. O. J. Simpson was incredible, and the The Assassination of Gianni Versace earned Darren Criss a well-earned Emmy. Next up is Impeachment: American Crime Story, set to depict the action and aftermath of President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky. The show now has their tricky Billy, with Clive Owen jumping on board. Here’s what we know so far about the new show from producer Ryan Murphy.

Who is Joining Clive Owen in Impeachment: American Crime Story?

Clive Owen is going to play a central role in the new season as Bill Clinton. So far, the known actors alongside Owen are Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky, and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones. The season will be obviously based on the Clinton sex scandal, relying heavily on a memoir. The narrative will largely follow Jeffrey Toobin’s book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President.

Impeachment: American Crime Story is going to now be streaming in a new place for those who don’t catch it live. Disney announced last week that FX Shows on Hulu would replace the FXNow app. Seems logical, as Hulu is going to transition into Disney’s more adult area of content.

The show premiers September 27, 2020. Interestingly enough, producer Ryan Murphy says that might change given the current impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump, as well as the 2020 election. Two other Ryan Murphy shows made waves this year. American Horror Story: 1984 did well in the ratings, and The Politician was a huge hit for the producer’s new deal with Netflix.
