Actor Tom Holland has provided a succinct update on the uncertain status of new Spider-Man movie, stressing the importance of preserving the legacy for all those involved.

In an interview with Deadline, Holland expressed confidence in the caliber of talent working on the story, labeling them as “the best in the business.” However, he hinted that progress will remain stagnant until they’ve successfully resolved any creative challenges.

Holland’s remarks suggest a protective stance towards the Spider-Man films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is understandable given his acknowledgment: “I owe my life and career to Spider-Man.” It appears that the challenge lies in devising fresh ideas, steering clear of mere repetition of past narratives.

Tom Holland’s Statements on Spider-Man 4

“The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films. I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more new Spider-Man movies”, Tom Holland Stated.

“We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.

“This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early. It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things.”

Holland’s recent remarks mirror those he made in November, emphasizing his reluctance to participate in another Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man film solely for the sake of it. Considering the immense success of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ranks as the seventh highest-grossing film of all time, generating an astounding $1.922 billion at the box office, it’s probable that the decision-makers will be inclined to proceed with a new Spider-Man movie featuring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and the rest of the cast. However, it appears fans will need to exercise patience before witnessing any new developments on the silver screen.

In the interim, fans might find solace in Venom 3, featuring Tom Hardy. In March, Hardy shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the anticipated sequel, sparking speculation that the film could pick up directly after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
