Fan enthusiasm may have played a role in bringing back Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson respectively. Set photos in recent weeks have revealed the presence of all these characters, providing Daredevil fans with plenty of behind-the-scenes insights.

What Occurred to ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ During Production?

Late last year, the Daredevil: Born Again writing team underwent a significant change. At this time, Marvel Studios is thoroughly reviewing the series’ creative direction. The decision that the series was not meeting the production’s expectations. It also came after production on the eighteen-episode series was halted due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. After reviewing the footage, senior management concluded that the series was not progressing as desired. As a result, Marvel fired screenwriters Chris Ord and Matt Corman. In addition, the series was restructured to conform more to the traditional episodic television format. In doing so, they moved away from the “limited series” approach that Marvel originally pursued.

The studio intends to hire new showrunners to oversee the production process for the upcoming seasons of Daredevil: Born Again. It also wants to do so from the initial pre-production stages to their eventual premiere. This strategic shift reflects a tendency to develop longer and more continuous series. The goal is to move away from the stand-alone limited series format. With this updated approach, Marvel appears to be striving for a smoother production workflow for these series. It also emphasizes a dedication to both excellence and narrative consistency. This evolution in Marvel’s strategy suggests a promising trajectory for their television division. In this way they will prioritize on creating expansive multi-season storylines within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather than trying to replicate the “eight one-hour movies” format.”
