There are a few creators out there whose work we will always gravitate towards. Whether they wrote amazing novels, drew fantastic comic books, or just have the best personality, there are so many beloved stars out there. Terry Pratchett is, without a doubt, one of them. So, when we heard the news of another Pratchett adaptation, we were thrilled! And then even more so when we found out about its leads. The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents, Pratchett’s 2001 children’s novel, just found its voice actors. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about this exciting project and whose voices we will hear it from.

The Amazing Maurice Finds Leads in Emilia Clarke and More!

The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents is the 28th novel in Discworld, a comic fantasy world by Pratchett. This addition to the story was written specifically for children and tells the tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin from another perspective.

News of an upcoming adaptation was made known in the middle of 2019, but we have heard little news since then. That is, until now! Voice actors for the film will include Hugh Laurie (House), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), David Thewlis (Wonder Woman, Harry Potter), Himesh Patel (Yesterday) and more! Toby Genkel and Florian Westermann are co-directing.

Fortunately, Terry Pratchett’s estate is supporting the project. So, we have some trust that it will turn out pretty wonderful, as most Pratchett adaptations do (we’re still re-watching the Good Omens adaptation over and over again!)

We hope that this film will be able to finish development safely. It is currently on track for a 2022 release by Sky Cinema.
