If you were a gamer in the 2000s, you would surely remember the magnificent Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. The game was released in 2002, in which you control Sam, an NSA agent who has to rescue the world from a global crisis single-handedly. The game’s plot captivated gamers then, and now we know that Splinter Cell will be adapted for modern audiences.

The developer of the game, Ubisoft, announced the new version of Splinter Cell at the end of the year 2021. The company stated that the new version would have more modern touches, although it did not give details of what it was referring to. We can interpret this in two ways. On the one hand, the plot is due to the current political situation in the world or the improvement of the special effects.

For two decades, fans have been waiting for this new version, and they will be pleased, although it will probably not be soon. Since the game is in the early stages of development, according to what Ubisoft published at the end of 2021. This implies that it could appear between 2024 and 2025.

In a recent publication of members of the development team, Ubisoft released information about the game. Also, several reviews about the game have made the fans expectant of any announcement by the developers.

A new game version inspired by Tom Clancy’s novel has been developing since 2021. This new remastering, Splinter Cell, will be adapted to the modern audience. This changes according to statements given by Ubisoft about this new title in development.

The scriptwriters developing the game’s plot stated about the new adaptation. First, they commented, “Using the first Splinter Cell game as a base, we are rewriting and updating the story for a modern audience”. They said, “We want to keep the spirit and themes of the original game while exploring our characters and the world to make them more authentic and believable.”

They plan to twist Secret Agent Sam’s life, although it is unknown exactly how. What is certain is that the plot of stealth and seeking to solve the missions in the most disguised way will continue in this production.

The game already has excellent ratings from critics. It scored 9.4 out of 10 points in IGN’s review. It started in this regard “The incredible amount of polish, the stylish and developed presentation, the functional nature of everything, the satisfying twist on gameplay that focuses on logically deciphered situations that need to be solved with a good eye and common sense, and the sheer amount of style, panache and coolness attached, make Splinter Cell a valid and worthwhile addition to the collection of all smart and patient gamers.”

We’re likely to have better effects, considering today’s technology and consoles are more capable than in 2002. So not only will we have changes at the plot level, but Unisoft will likely improve the gameplay and character abilities.
