CDPR CEO Adam Kiciński has had one hell of a year explaining the stability of Cyberpunk 2077. Upon launch, the game was one of the most highly-anticipated titles of recent memory. Just hours after reviews released, however, fans knew something was wrong. The strict guidelines for showing off the game’s condition issued a red flag to many. Then, upon release, the game was nearly unplayable on PS4 and Xbox One. Even Xbox Series X and PS5 players had trouble getting the game to run for over an hour without crashes. Now, Kiciński explains that things are finally at a “satisfactory” level for Cyberpunk 2077. Here’s what that means for the future of the game.

TVN24 reported on comments made by CDPR CEO Adam Kiciński regarding the current state of Cyberpunk 2077. Kiciński notes that bugs are still present in the game. Really, that’s something anyone can live with as long as the game actually works. CD Projekt RED offered Cyberpunk 2077 refunds after the game’s poor launch. On PC, things were okay but still pretty rough. On PS4 and Xbox One, however, the game was downright unplayable. Even on the PS5, numerous crashes occurred on a regular basis. The lack of stability led Sony to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store. The game just last week returned to Sony’s digital storefront.
CDPR will still need to work out the minor issues plaguing the game. That’s a lot less dire than, you know, the game literally not working. Hopefully, this is the start of a new chapter for the game. In all of the rich gaming history of CD Projekt Red, player-friendly practices made the studio a positive outlier. Now, they’ll continue to work to regain player’s trust.
