What are Retsuden Stories?
Sasuke Retsuden (Sasuke’s Story coming up in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime) is an upcoming short spin-off anime. The story itself follows Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship in-depth. This is why many are interested to find out what Sasuke Retsuden is.
Retsuden are Naruto (and Boruto) light novels, some of which have captured so much attention that they also got a manga and/or anime adaptation. Moreover, there have been 3 canon Retsuden stories in total so far.
These are Naruto Retsuden: Naruto Uzumaki and the Spiral Destiny, Sasuke Retsuden: The Uchiha Descendants and the Heavenly Stardust, and Kakashi Retsuden: The Sixth Hokage and the Failure Boy. Apart from the canon light novels which follow the main manga, there are also Shinden stories.
You can also find out a lot of interesting information from these non-canon light novels. For example, there are Naruto: Sasuke Shinden – Sunrise, Itachi Shinden – Midnight, and Itachi Shinden – Daylight. These specifically tell many details about the Uchiha clan.

What is Sasuke Retsuden anime and when is it coming?
Sasuke’s Story (Sasuke Retsuden) is officially going to receive an anime adaptation soon. The official statement from the Jump Festa 2023 also included information about the release date. Moreover, the Sasuke Retsuden Arc is going to be the 25th arc in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. This will be an anime adaptation of The Uchiha Descendants and the Heavenly Stardust novel.
In addition, the Sasuke Retsuden anime adaptation will cover three episodes. Sasuke Retsuden: Infiltration is the first episode, which aired on January 8th, 2023. The next two episodes aired on January 15th and January 22nd.
These episodes will play a key part in finding out the true nature of Sasuke Uchiha. Why did he come back? Not only did he accept Sakura’s everlasting love, but he even reciprocated. Was her love really strong enough to change him? These episodes will definitely bring back together Konoha fans all around the world!
