As per the latest information from Disney, X-Men ’97 series reboot is set to make its debut sooner than expected. While the X-Men have always had a place in the hearts of fans, those from the ’80s and early ’90s hold a special fondness for X-Men: The Animated Series, a beloved Saturday morning cartoon of that era. Now, Disney+ and Marvel Studios are gearing up to revive the cherished show with a reimagined series titled X-Men ’97.

X-Men ’97, the upcoming reboot of the beloved animated series, holds great anticipation for fans of the iconic ’80s and ’90s show. Set to debut on Disney+, the series aims to introduce a new generation to the timeless appeal of the X-Men universe, offering a fresh take on the classic superhero team.

X-Men ’97 Series  Reboot Set to Release Soon

In The Walt Disney Corporation’s recent earnings presentation on February 7, an official update confirmed that X-Men ’97 will debut on Disney+ in “Early 2024.” While conventional wisdom suggests a release between January and April, the show currently lacks a specific date. Earlier speculation hinted at an April/May release, aligning with a lead-in comic book series.

What Is the Plot of X-Men ’97?

X-Men ‘97 is a direct continuation of the original X-Men: The Animated Series, beginning immediately after the 1997 series finale, “Graduation Day.” In that episode, Professor Charles Xavier departs Earth with Lilandra to seek a cure for a life-threatening injury. Magneto, learning of Xavier’s condition, halts his world conquest plans out of respect. The series features iconic characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, Rogue, Beast, and Jubilee.

Details about the plot remain scarce, with fans speculating about the show’s animation style. The debate centers on whether it will follow a traditional hand-drawn approach or opt for computer-generated animation, similar to Marvel Studios’ other animated series, What If…?

In anticipation of the upcoming X-Men ’97 reboot, fans eagerly await more details about the series, including its animation style and storyline continuation from the original X-Men: The Animated Series. While specifics remain unknown, enthusiasts can enjoy the classic X-Men series on Disney+ in the meantime. As time unfolds, the beloved mutants’ new adventures are set to captivate both longtime fans and a new generation of viewers.

Marvel Studios is actively working on developing the second season of X-Men ’97.
