Netflix Renews Locke & Key For Season 3

After a handful of upsetting cancellations over at Netflix, and even more at other networks and streaming services, we’ve been living in a state of uncertainty when it comes to television renewals. It’s tough to get excited for new seasons and sequels when the film and television industry is living through such shaky times. Fortunately, not all of our favorites are getting canceled (unfortunately, we’re looking at you I am not okay with this). One series that made us all fans early in 2020 (long before we even entered lockdown!) has just announced its renewal. It’s official, Locke & Key will be coming back for a season 3. And no, you didn’t miss the second season. In fact, it’s not even done filming yet!

Locke & Key Will Be Back For Season 3

The second season of Locke & Key is in the process of wrapping up production and is expected to release in 2021. So, we were delighted to hear the news that season 3 of Locke & Key has been confirmed. It will start filming in early 2021. Meredith Averill, the executive producer for the series, has also been signed on to make more projects for Netflix.

The series is based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s comic book of the same name, published by IDW Publishing. It follows three siblings who, along with their mother, move into their ancestral home following the murder of their father. Their new home is filled with mysteries, each one going deeper than the next. It is often praised for its unique blend of the coming-of-age genre blended with incredible visual horror.

Readers, we’re still processing the first season! We want to hear your thoughts on the renewal announcement. Season 3 of Locke & Key is a little far away. Do you have any hopes or predictions for the future of the series? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
