The U.S. Army is running several advertising campaigns to attract the public to its ranks. The campaigns aim to improve the number of recruits, which is currently quite low. They only managed to obtain 25% of the goals set for 2022, which is the lowest figure recorded at this time. One of the campaigns features Jonathan Majors’s commercial.

The actor who portrays Kang The Conqueror in the MCU appears in these campaigns with the slogan “Be All You Can Be”. However, these commercials were canceled by the U.S. Army, following accusations towards the actor of domestic violence.

The Army had two commercials that actor Jonathan Majors narrated. These contained the slogan “Be All You Can Be” and sought to attract and inspire as many people as possible, using the actor’s popularity. However, the actor is in a legal process where he allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old woman.

This caused the U.S. Army to cancel the broadcasting of these two ads, although the rest of the campaign ads are still active. The ads will continue to run in various instances, such as the NCAA March Madness competition.

Regarding the charges against Jonathan Majors, the U.S. Army commented that this accusation is not a good one, and they are concerned about the credibility of the commercial campaign. They also stated that they are not condemning the actor, as he must be proven guilty first. But they will apply some caution to avoid problems in the campaign. In the official statement, the Army spokesman said the following:

“The U.S. Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest. We recently released two ads in which Mr. Majors appears. While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”

As for the campaign the Army put together, the amount invested is in the multi-millions. Jonathan Majors commercial aims to boost enlistment numbers, as in 2022 there were only 45,000 new people registered in its ranks. Alarming figures considering it is a quarter, of the organization’s proposed goal.

Regarding Jonathan Majors’ accusations that led to the commercial withdrawal, the actor was arrested in New York on Saturday, March 25, for alleged domestic violence. The complaint was made by a 30-year-old woman, who presented several minor injuries to her neck and head. This was the statement made by the authorities who took the citizens’ statements and arrested the MCU star.

As for the defense of Jonathan Majors, his lawyers claim that the actor is completely innocent of the crimes he is accused of. Defense attorney Priya Chaudhry, stressed that they are gathering enough evidence to prove his innocence before the prosecutor before going to trial. In the statements of the criminal defense attorney, the following is stated:

“We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently”.

For the moment, the accusation is just that, since the investigations are just beginning. However, Jonathan Majors’s commercial will be suspended until the Army knows the outcome of this indictment. If he is innocent, the advertisement would be activated again according to the statements of those responsible.

If found guilty, it would be a major blow to the U.S. Army, considering that they invested millions of dollars in this campaign centered on Jonathan Majors.
