One of the year’s greatest games is already arriving on Xbox Gam Pass next month. After the landmark Bethesda deal, we knew that a lot of their games would come to Game Pass. In fact, the announcement for the deal highlighted that all ZeniMax Media studios would send their games to the service. This was already in progress before the deal. Titles like Dishonored 2 and Wolfenstein graced the lineup, as well as older titles like Fallout: New Vegas. A lot more games could be coming now that Microsoft invested in the studios. One such game is Doom Eternal. The Doom Eternal Game Pass addition is the first real sign of what’s to come for Microsoft in the future.

I’d say most people who purchased Doom Eternal in April don’t regret it. As the Xbox announcement included, many refer to it as one of the best FPS games of the year. After Microsoft acquires Bethesda and ZeniMax, we knew this would be coming. The fact that it’s already happening so soon is a great sign. I hope we see other titles come over as quickly as possible.

If you didn’t get a chance to play Doom Eternal yet, then now seems perfect. The game is about to launch some DLC and even get a next-gen upgrade. The game builds on the 2016 reboot of the series in a big way. I love these games so much, and Eternal really met every expectation I had. In a lot of ways, the series feels like the perfect single player shooter experience. Multiplayer is a little lackluster, but that’s not necessarily why people love these games. It’s the bloody, demon-filled chaos that occurs on screen. Rev up your chainsaws because Doom Eternal arrives on Game Pass October 1.

Are you excited to see more Bethesda games come to Xbox Game Pass? If so, then let us know you’re most anticipated addition in the comments! Thanks for reading Comic Years for all things gaming, comics, and pop culture.
