Among Us is a mobile game keeping us all sane in 2020. If you haven’t checked it out yet, then you definitely should. As simplistic and sometimes frustrating as online play can be, it’s also a ton of fun. Before today, only PC and mobile gamers could play the game. The developer, Innersloth, expressed interest in bringing the game to consoles as early as 2021. During a Nintendo Indie World Showcase, however, Innersloth surprised everyone with the Among Us Switch version launching today. Seriously, you can download it right now. Here’s what we might see now that the Switch version is live.

Plenty of people play games on their PC and mobile devices. Millions more play games on their Switch, and now that a version of Among Us is on the console, expect a huge boost the player base. For merely $5, you can grab the game for Switch starting today on the Nintendo eShop. It was certainly the highlight of today’s Indie World Showcase from Nintendo. Other notable announcements include some elaborate and fun indie releases coming in 2021 as well as the port of Spelunky and Spelunky 2 to the Switch.

It’s insane how popular Among Us is when you consider the game’s unique history. The game took home two huge awards at The Game Awards 2020 and is releasing a new map next year as well. The game is a bit annoying at times if people leave your game during a match, but that happens with online games. While some might opt to stay with the free mobile version, $5 is a good asking price for this title. It’s worth noting the game is also $5 on Steam.

If you’re still loving Among Us, then let us know if you’ll pick it up on the Nintendo Switch. If you missed the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, check out the full video below. Thanks for reading Comic Years for all things gaming, comics, and pop culture.
