Disney+ Bringing The Animated Star Wars: The Bad Batch To Platform

Star Wars is a franchise that has built itself up from a handful of highly anticipated film releases. A New Hope released in 1977 to immediate success, and a new fandom was born. Fortunately, they’ve managed to keep up with fan expectations and have been working hard on making the shift to streaming services in addition to big blockbuster hits. 2019’s The Mandalorian was a massive success for Disney+ and Star Wars, leading the way for the future of the franchise. Well, we don’t have to wait long for a new series on Disney+, as the animated Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be hitting our small screens soon.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which recently ended its 12-year run, introduced the Bad Batch. These highly skilled clones will be taking center stage in the new Star Wars animated series. Not only are they impressively trained, but each member also has a unique and extraordinary skill. The events in Star Wars: The Bad Batch will immediately follow the results of the Clone War.

Dave Filoni will be the series’ executive producer. He has worked on The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian, among others, and has proven to be a key player in ensuring that the franchise is successful even on television. Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, and Jennifer Corbett will also executive produce, and Carrie Beck will be a co-executive producer. Corbett will also serve as the head writer for the series. Josh Rimes will be producing the series.

Hitting Streaming Services Soon

No official date has been announced for Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney+. Though, we do know that it will premiere sometime in 2021. Thankfully, there is less of a concern on getting the series released in time as the animated format will not need as many strict production guidelines following the coronavirus pandemic.

Will you watch Star Wars: The Bad Batch when it arrives on Disney+ next year? Thankfully, we’ll be getting new Star Wars content soon.  Time to re-watch The Mandalorian season finale because season two will be available for streaming this fall!
