It is definitely a unique South Korean survival series, which is why many fans have been wondering what the Squid Game season 2 plot would be. The main actor Lee Jung-jae (also known as Player 456) just recently gave us a couple of hints about season 2!

One of the great shows that emerged during the pandemic is ‘Squid Game’. This Netflix original show follows a group of players that are caught in a lethal game. In order to survive, South Korean players must complete several (literally impossible) tasks. The goal is clear – you either finish the task perfectly, or you die. This lethal game introduced players with dark backgrounds – such as people with gambling addictions.

Lee Jung-jae’s hints for the Squid Game Season 2 Plot
In a recent interview with GQ, Lee Jung-jae gave us quite a few hints as to what the ‘Squid Game’ season 2 plot revolve around in the future. Namely, the creators might reveal the gruesome side of the show’s protagonist, Gi Hun.
Lee Jung-jae portrayed Gi Hun in season 1 of ‘Squid Game’. Gi Hun (player 456) participated in the game in order to settle his money debts which were a result of gambling. ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 plot will reflect on Gi Hun’s return to real life after the game ended.
The actor showed excitement when it came to the season 1 finale. Moreover, he hinted towards the upcoming episodes, saying the fans will be able to see Gi Hun’s vengeance. This news, combined with the season 1 finale, offers an amazing plotline for season 2. As season 1 wrapped, it showed Gi Hun’s dark desire to destroy the lethal game.
Lee Jung-jae also explained how we are about to see 456’s growth as a responsible and understanding human being, rather than the pretentious wealthy man he was in season 1. Though his goal is to ultimately destroy the game, it might take a lot of sacrifices for Gi Hun.

“I feel like Squid Game isn’t solely meant to provide a social message to society. Ultimately, it’s meant to deliver dreams and hopes to the audience. Of course, it was a fun television show that helped us ask deep questions, but at the end of the day, it’s also entertainment.”
