Last April, Lucasfilm released a trailer for the Ahsoka series that hinted at its upcoming release date, and now Disney has confirmed it. A recent announcement by these two companies has just indicated the exact date of the beginning of the transmission of this series on Disney +.

This would be the first production starring this former Jedi padawan of Luke Skywalker. In this series, we will learn more about his story after separating and confronting her former master, Darth Vader. We could already see this character in live-action with some appearances in The Mandalorian when he encounters Luke Skywalker.

Disney Announces Ahsoka Release Date

An announcement by Disney on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, confirmed the release date for the Ahsoka series. The announcement was in the same video as the trailer. In the footage, we could see the interaction of the Padawan with her former companions in Star Wars Rebels and the reappearance of the Sith once again.

The spot premiered Wednesday at the NBA Finals game between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets. The commercial broadcasted at halftime of the basketball game and lasts approximately 31 seconds long.

The release date of the Ahsoka series will be August 23, 2023. On this date, you will enjoy the 8 episodes of this new series. Each chapter will have a duration of approximately one hour, with a total duration of this production of 8 hours more or less.

The story will narrate the life of this former Padawan. She is not a Jedi but can be seen as a mix between Sith and Jedi. The crystals on her two lightsabers belong to the Sith, but she adjusted them to be used by the light force. However, she does not follow the doctrine of the Jedi Order nor the ways of this group.

What’s in Store for the Next Star Wars Series?

In the series trailer, we see how Ahsoka arrives at a space station, where his former companions from Star Wars: Rebels are. In fact, we see a friendly greeting between the Padawan and one of her former allies. However, a remnant of the Sith will appear, making the warrior retake her sabres to face the enemy.

There is a possibility that this enemy has some relation with Ahsoka because, in the confrontation, it seems that they already know this character. Therefore, he could be a former inquisitor hidden from the empire and the rebellion. This situation could have motivated the villain to take control of the situation.

We may know more about Ahsoka’s past this time, not only how his life was without the company and teachings of his master Anakin. Also, how she survived her captivity on Coruscant and how this prompted her new path as a warrior. The new enemy may be part of that past that will be hidden until August 23.

The Ahsoka series release date is near, and it will be led by Dave Filoni and starring Rosario Dawson, who plays the role of the Jadi. Also starring will be other actors such as Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Ivanna Sakhno portraying Shin Hati. We will also see Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Diana Lee Inosanto has the role of Morgan Elsbeth and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The Ahsoka series will be available on the Disney+ platform. It will follow the structure designed from The Mandalorian, with 8 full-length episodes.
