Mavel Studios has officially announced that Pedro Pascal will be part of the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. In addition, the actor has expressed his enthusiasm for joining the project.

At the SAG Awards on Saturday, Pedro Pascal secured the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series award for his work in HBO’s The Last of Us. Post-ceremony, he expressed his enthusiasm to ET Online about his role in the upcoming The Fantastic Four reboot. He stated he’s “beyond excited” to be part of the superhero film.

Pedro Pascal Expressed his Excitement to be in The Fantastic Four

Pedro Pascal expressed his immense excitement: “I can tell you how excited I am, which is beyond. There isn’t anything more exciting than being in a cast like that.” He then acknowledged his new co-stars Vanessa Kirby from The Crown, Joseph Quinn from Stranger Things, Ebon Moss-Bachrach from The Bear, and director Matt Shakman.

Pedro Pascal expressed his disbelief at joining the Fantastic Four family: “To be invited to a family like that is unbelievable, and we all just want to do our best and share it with the world.” However, he did not reveal additional details about the production start or plot of the upcoming superhero film.

Pedro Pascal’s excitement for the film appears genuine, and it’s evident in his initiative to create a group chat for the cast, as confirmed by co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Moss-Bachrach mentioned that Pascal started the chat a few days ago, and while they haven’t decided on a fun name yet, everyone in the group is actively engaging, showing their investment in the project.

Rumors Suggest The Fantastic Four Could Take Place in the 1960s

Marvel officially unveiled The Fantastic Four’s cast including Pedro Pascal through a delightful Valentine’s Day poster, featuring hidden details that offer clues about the film’s era. The art style and the film’s new title logo suggest a setting in the 1960s. Notably, The Thing is depicted reading a 1963 issue of LIFE magazine, featuring President Johnson in the White House, adding to the intriguing hints about the upcoming superhero reboot.

In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Ebon Moss-Bachrach skillfully navigated questions about The The Fantastic Four’s timeline.

When asked if the reboot would be set in the 1960s, Moss-Bachrach initially responded with a “yes.” However, she quickly clarified that “the picture appears to be from the 1960s.” Her response adds an air of mystery to the film’s time setting. It also leaves fans curious about the era in which the iconic Marvel superhero team-up will occur.

At the moment there is no official storyline for the upcoming The Fantastic Four movie. However Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige revealed in 2022 that the reboot would not revisit the origin story of “Marvel’s First Family.” This statement suggests the narrative will explore new and uncharted territories for the iconic superhero team.

Marvel Studios has announced the release date for the upcoming The Fantastic Four reboot in theaters on July 25, 2025. However, the date has changed several times.
